It's a small company that gives its staff members an opportunity to learn even though there is no growth within the company. A typical day at First Metro Housing doing follow ups on lease applications, checking on due lease renewals, using Nicor system we follow up on tenant in arrears, make calls to remind them of payments due. Basically going about your work without being followed around, its management trusts its employees enough to perform on tasks given on a daily basis. We have become a family at First Metro Housing, the people within the come are most friendliest people I've ever met, they make coming to work enjoyable and fun. I am grateful for the opportunities First Metro Housing has given me, I've never dreamt in my wildest dreams that I would work and love working for a property company, the experience I've gained here makes me want to learn more about property management industry.

Pros: Good working hours
Cons: Unequal Salaries for all leasing administrators, no room for growth, your abilities and skills are professionally undermined.

Learning curve

Typical working day at First Metro is coming in and have a schedule or a planner to know your daily duties, and planning and meeting your dead-lines. Every employee is trusted to perform without being constantly supervised, in other words that is somehow teaching its employees discipline and I like that about the company. The relationship I have with my co-workers I'd say we have become family, when I'm at work I don't feel distress of coming to work, because the people I work with make coming to work stress-free and calming. I have learnt a lot working for First Metro. Firstly I have gained extensive administration skills as well as gaining knowledge about leasing property. What I enjoy about the job the leasing part of it, the interviewing of tenants and building a relationship with a potential tenant.

Pros: They have great working hours
Cons: Lack of growth

I have learnt how to deal with different employees from different backgrounds.

My work day is about doing cashbook capturing from the bank statement, invoices, raising invoices for debtors capturing. I also go for weekly meetings on Monday mornings, planning weekly activities, reflecting on what has been achieved previously and increase effort to do more so that we can be more efficient. I set goals for myself and make sure that I achieve them. I am confident in my abilities and I do everything necessary to succeed.My relationship with co-workers is friendly and we all have common goal to succeed. My work experience has taught how important is time management in dealing with deadlines and being more efficient.

Pros: Being more efficient and accurate has helped gain employer confidence.
Cons: I am used to working long hours , even overtime if I have deadline.
