Great place to learn financial services industry

Was a great place, until individuals from private sector joined and brought in their methods that do not work in the current environment and also negative aspects that they experienced at their previous jobs, that demotivate and discourage growth of staff! Most senior people do not have leadership qualities. There is no typical work day, as each day brings on new and exciting challenges. I have learnt that if people at the workplace are placed in positions of seniority without proper analysis , they can be more destructive rather than productive for the growth of the organisation. I most enjoyed being able to help people that were were being ripped off by insurers and brokers at their time of need. Some people do not understand process and procedures that goes into ensuring that they ae helped, so become impatient and we have to make them see the light, as a manner of speaking.

Pros: great learning curve when selfish superiors do not attemt to subotage one.
Cons: Superiors seriously lack people management skills and are quite unprofessional at times.

Excellent

The culture of my organisation makes it very easy for me to accomplish my set goals on a daily basis. Teamwork and professionalism in the organisation I am working for is the order of the day. Working environment and my leadership style makes it easy for me to relate with co-workers. I have gained confidence through my experience in presenting issues relating to my core function through interacting with different levels of management and improving relationships with external stakeholders. I enjoy being in meetings with line Departments, orientating and updating them on supply chain processes and issues. The most challenging aspect of my job is mostly on the interpretation of the regulations as the application is normally different from one organ of state to the other.

Pros: Fully comply to all the laws, rules and applicable legislations.
Cons: Working for long hours

Learning sector

During my work day, I develop test cases, I sometimes assist other employees with their work just to understand what they do. I enjoy working with different stakeholders because this give exposure to lot of field and the understanding of those field. I learned that timelines are very important to the project and identifying risk to minimize them. The most challenging thing is under testing is working with different stakeholders such as developers because sometimes we had some conflicts which can delay the project to be delivered.

Pros: Great opportunity to get hired to different department
Cons: Working depending on other employees

Good learning curve

We are supporting more than 500 people with different problems. We are trained to be calm and professional to user. We gave them best services always. I have learnt how to deal with difficult user and enjoy working with my team and different users.

Working accordingly and associating with real people can be very beneficial,towards hard work and realism,whats need is implementation in bringing progress in workmanship.In a typical work day everything moves slowly in the morning but after tea time we embark and have a way forward in accelerational work demands,we work to achieve,not losing,all Co- workers have their own mentality in doing what ever they intend to do the work environment according to the rules and make a difference in showing benefits everyday,Mostly the egad curved thing is that,we learn every day and learning could give out different ideas and also perspective in achievement,Mostly is not about nagging you should enjoy and bring out the supreme politeness that where every you go this are don good and measure to good deeds,I dont find anything challenging because what challenging needs strength not force,so that the most incluecified challenge that needs to be achieved and it has been because of our work ethical skills

Coming from Retail enviroment was not that difficult into setting in the corprate world as we are more of a one thing because of clients that we servr.I have learn a lot from my collegues and my manager.I am at the front desk and i deal a lot with walk-ins.

Pros: It does help individual to grow.At the moment i am a student at UNISA and FSB pays for my studies.
Cons: Hours are okay.Monday-Friday 07:45 - 16:30

I have worked for South African Reserve Bank, (Bank Supervision Department) and the Financial Services Board in the following department: - Pensions Fund - FAIS and - Insurance department I have an extensive compliance experience.
