A day in the life of.......

A typical day while serving as the cfo of the trading business started early and ended late as we traded across various exchanges in SA/Europe and USA. Fostering relationships with a multinational team insured that when challenges were encountered, the collective team knew that all efforts were being made to resolve them. The biggest challenge that we encountered was as a result of our rapid growth which meant short term constraints on working capital while further lines were being raised. This made for great challenges which I really enjoyed. A typical day while serving as the ceo of uLima, entailed visiting remote areas of Kenya, launching the app that we had developed for farmers. We travelled to over 200 towns and villages covering some 10,000km in the 3 months.

Pros: Good environment to learn and build, loads of potential to grow, exposure to African markets
Cons: Long working hours, transformation from family owned company to corporate which sometimes did not indicate clear paths for career growth

Great thinker

I was working as a Recieving and dispatch clerk in the warehouse, I used to Recieve Import Cargo that is being kept in the warehouse for long term storage and Export Cargo that is being Exported to International Countries. My duties included stock tacking of all the cargo that is in the warehouse and record it on the stock taking system.

Pros: Great working environment
Cons: Long working hours
