Excellent learning curve

Working at Exigent has been wonderful. I enjoy the environment and the people. Everyone is deadline driven and enthusiastic. Everyone puts in that extra time and effort. They are professional aswell. What was most challenging for me at Exigent was learning to sit at the computer for 8 to 12 hours, as I am accustomed to being physically busy most of the day . I had to learn to adapt very fast.

Pros: Opportunities and exposure in different aspects of the legal admin field.
Cons: Temporary basis. You can wait 6 month to a year for them to call you for the next project.

Excellent skills obtained

My day is mostly filled with meetings, client calls and monitoring internal processes. I am in constant communication with my staff. I enjoy coaching and assisting staff to excel in all that they do. The most challenging part of my job is selling other services we have to offer to our existing clients.

Pros: Always being up to date with regards to technology

Work Review

A typical work day is where I log on at 10.00 am. I do transcriptions and document formatting, dealing with queries and liaising with fee earners telephonically and via e-mail. I have a really good relationship with my co-workers as we all have a common mission and maintain good team ethics. I have learnt more skills on MS Word and document formatting. I enjoy transcriptions the most. The most challenging part is the urgency of all the work needed from the various fee earners.

Stable environment

Good friendly staff, excellent learning environment. Quality and deadline driven high volumes of work. Great support staff. Flexible working hours and very accommodating .

Blood sweat and tears

Not happy here anymore, they only promote people they like. Promotions, bonuses and encentive rewards are only given to people management like, not always on merit.

Leant a lot of legal terminology and a great strating point in my legal Secretary career

Everyday is a new task, interesting work. Love working on for our clients. Time management, recording every minute of your day. Management can be tough on a person but it's because we have a reputation to uphold. No rewards at the company, no understanding of personal circumstances. No bonuses, only get salary increases every 3 or 4 years and it's never really more than 4%.
