I did the following: •Trouble Shooting And Repair All Mechanical Equipment •Performing Plant Inspections •Maintaining Conveyor Belts, Gearbox, Pumps, Valves And Oil Coolers. •Preparing Qcp’s, Planning And Organizing Spares. •Performed Preventive Maintenance. •Attended Meetings And Give Feedbacks To My Superior. •Preparing Scopes For Outage Defects.. •Spares monitoring. •Basics on SAP. •Ensuring day to day defects are planned and executed either immediately or during weekend opportunity. I was a team player. I have learn how to work with people with different personalities and attitudes. I have learnt alot about technical aspects applying the theory to the practical. I enjoyed the most to be involved to in troubleshooting, to be involved in solving new challenges. When i was still new. I was frustrated because i wanted to know the plant as soon as possible. Another thing people do not believe in you when you are still a trainee even if it is a minor thing.
Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long weekend hours

Excellent Company to work for.
•• To perform my duties with highest degree of professionalism, enthusiasm and integrity • To be able to use the knowledge and skills I acquired over the years in my work environment to solve technical problems and continue to learn. • To ensure that both mechanical and electrical machinery perform optimally and within the design parameters (specifications) and correct any components attributing to poor performance and any sub-standard work due to poor workmanship. My short term goal is to register with ECSA as a Professional Technologist and to complete the Government of Certificate of Competency (Factories). My long term goals are to register with ECSA as a Professional Certificated Engineer; study for the M Eng. specialising in Asset Management; and MBA Degree.
Pros: Good environment for learning
Cons: Opportunities for growth are minimal

Full of challenges
It's a great company to work for but we are currently experiencing difficulties with management. Our department has changed more than 3 managers in the past 3 years so there is no permanent structure.
Pros: Women empowerment development opportunities.
Cons: Long standby periods.

Excellent learning curve
As a person who comes from a technical background (engineering school) and assuming a non or less technical position has been the most challenging part of the job. Working as an admin engineer has improved my communication skills and allowed me to explore the management side of engineering.
Pros: Room for mistakes
Cons: Away from home
