Managing audit team
We work as a team and I am the lead supervisor on most of my clients because of continuity. We learn new experience on every client we audit and maintain client relationships on every audit. Assist first years on the audit on what they are suppose to deliver in terms of client service.

I am currently serving as an Assistant Manager in audit
My day starts with me communicating with my teams to understand the progress on their work and any challenges they are experiencing. I then move on to section of work that are available for me to review and sections that require me to prepare. I have managed to strike a great relationship with my co-workers as I understand the demands of audit work and I am always willing to lend a helping hand. I have had to learn great lessons when it comes to prioritization of work and the importance of timely communication and escalation of issues that may arise. I currently enjoy flexible work arrangements as I am able to make time for my family and avoid staying in traffic for long. I am also able to work from home if I do not need to see my teams on that day. The most challenging aspect of my job is having to deal with changes in the teams for a specific client due to sign off of trainees and also demand for those trainees on other projects.

Overview of my experience
In the audit world, one has an option to select a sector they would like to be in. Fortunately I was selected to be in the Financial sector. I have had a privilege to audit Absa, Investec and a couple of Insurance companies (Nestlife). During my time at these audit, I will be involved in the initial phase when planning occurs to execution of the work and the final stage of finalizing everything. The environment in audit is wonderful as you get to work with people from different ethnicity and backgrounds. I have a learnt about different cultures. I enjoy the socials that we regularly have on a month basis. We get to converse with any other thing expect for audit. The most challenges I have encountered is communicating with clients that do not have a background of accounting. But overtime this become simply as I managed to explain clearly to the people

Excellent in adding value and improving an organisation's operation.
My typical day involves planning for the day including the engagement I will be undertaking, such as understanding the current process one will be auditing. Preparing the audit file and creating of working papers. A meeting with the team / co-workers is set to brainstorm and to assign each other particular sections within the process that one will be involved in. I have learnt that team work goes a long way and that we are most likely to finish earlier and to be efficient if one is working within a team. I enjoy being a part of a team that is united and always strive to succeed. The most challenging aspect is meeting difficult client due to one's budgeted time to complete a process is prolonged.

Great learning opportunity
It is such a great honor and opportunity to be part of Ernst and Young it is really the best place to gain knowledge and experience especially if you are a beginner like me. I was lucky enough that i joined the best team ever Talent Shared Services. Everybody in the team is helpful no day passes by without asking and not get a proper respond and they are always there to help, They always want each and everyone to learn something new everyday. I have learnt a lot about HR what is it all about and how to deal with different clients in the business. I learn a lot about each different ranks and departments. The pressure in the business, the day to day on going work with different ranks in and out of Africa. The is too much work load and you need to be fast and accurate avoid mistakes.

Great company to work, allows diversity and offers a lot of self development and career growth. Its a great environment to work under and also the work allows more interaction with colleagues and that makes one appreciate the divers office background, different skills and knowledge.
