It's a job

After being head hunted I found that I had no human resources, no SHEQ system at the depot I was assigned to and no trained SHE Reps. This was not mentioned during recruitment phase. Then my other depot's assets were cut down to one SHEQ Officer only (minus one SHEQ Officer and one SHEQ Administrator). Then I was assigned to two more regions. No SHEQ officers were given. I therefore have to manage MP, FS, NC and GP (Vaal) with one SHEQ Officer in MP, do all SHEQ Officer tasks myself, travel even more (with km's now capped) and remuneration remained the same. Last increase was a mere 4.5%, irrespective of good audits and SHEQ results. Good performance and hard work rewarded with very little motivation and no incentives. Love my colleagues on the floor, learned that this is a cut-throat company & industry and I enjoy the fact that I still have a job. I just don't know how much longer I can carry on in this manner.

Cons: No promotion possible due to skin colour, doubling responsibility without remunerating accordingly, very poor annual increase

My work as an fleet controler.

I was enjoying the work that I did at Enviroserv, I learned a lot of things how to communicate with customers and how to plan work and track down vehicles. I had also a good relationship with my staff members and customers. I had no challenges because i was always doing the work right and up to date with everything.

Pros: It would be a pleasure to work for this company because i'm dedicated and always do the best that I can. I'm a very hard working person and i'm reliable. I take my job serious and would do anything to keep a good reputation.
Cons: My working hours is 07:00 - 17:00

A good company to work for

A good company to work for, working for EnviroServ is like studying at the biggest waste management university. Your exposure will definitely depend in which department you are. Logistics is a great environment to start with. You will get to know the most important people in the company who will either make your time with the company a breeze or hell, the fleet controllers is everything. Then HR has a amazing Manager who only has the company's best interests at heart. She will do anything to be the best HR manger there is to make sure that her staff is well taken care off and happy. Commercial is definitely a "fun" and out the box type of fast moving environment. Here you will need survival skills. The faster you can learn about waste management the better for yourself. Also, people skills are everything here. There is no limit to creativity. However you would need to be "liked", if not you will not succeed in anything nor will you ever be promoted. Looks are definitely a added benefit

Am a very good driver and a good sense of humor

Have the abiry to adapt in any situation. I can do my work and deliver exceptional results. Have the ability to work well as an individual as well as in a team. Able to work under pressure. Given the opportunity will do my work at its best.

Every day challenging

We are over 1000 workers and mostly work witk heavy duty machinery. So every day is challenging as machines brake down things need to be ordered people get injured new drivers are ordered and needs to have the right licencis and go for medicals so yes every day there's something new that pops up and during this you have to do your creditors job ass well see why I say challanging but it's worth it and I love it.

Pros: You can go to other provinces
Cons: The smell of the waste
