Excellent people management, cooperative in team work

I have passion for my job because I learn everyday. Working with different people from different cultures is good but challenging sometimes, but I end up winning. I can work under pressure. I enjoy performing on-the-job training, assessing and coaching, as it increases my level of knowledge and understanding. Communication between my co-workers makes my job easier. I believe in future if I can get the higher position I will be able to perform very well because of what I learn everyday.

Learning

The typical day at work is to assist employees with enquiries e.g. leave day balances, personal issues. To advise managers regarding labour and IR. To conduct interviews, disciplinary enquiries and meetings with HOD of my responsible area. I have a good working relationship with my colleagues, Managers and lower level employees. I make time for everyone regardless their positions. I have learned a lot during my time at my work place especially cultures of differnt races. I enjoy my work especially when I could've assist and advise someone who leave my office happy and greatful. My most challenging aspects is to try and convince the workforce on change management.

A simple, honeest and hardwoking

Working in Dwarsrivier is always wonderful, considering the teams and their love for the jobs they are doing. As a former training instructor and now a shop steward it is a daily issue to always engage with the majority of our young employees on daily basis and the relationship is excellent and very healthy. working and engaging with different people is always a new challenge and that is the most enjoyable moments of my life. Most challenging aspect is to be in disciplinary hearing that is presided over by an officer who does not have information on case handling.

Pros: i have prospects of being promoted
Cons: i am used to working long hours as per the nature of my job

Highly unionised environment

Versatile and robust environment. Requires a sharp minded person as one interacts with diverse cultures. I enjoy interacting with different people. I believe in personal growth to ensure I adapt to new innovative challenges.

My current company is viewed as the very attractive employer of choice.

I am viewed by the people I serve as great leader. I have been contributing to this company since 2010 September and I have changed many people's life. I have an ability to spot the talent and I normally recommend for peoples development. I see people as a great assets and believe if we invest in them the company will reap the benefits. My daily business revolves around serving the line management on issues pertaining to HR. My job is very challenging because of the dynamic people I am serving and I must ensure consistency and maintain the company policies and standards.

Excellent company to work for. Voted employer of the year in 2012

Best employer to work for. It is mostly 80% black managed company. Though it's a has no partnership and solely dependant on one particular investor. It's paying good salaries and good yearly bonuses but depending on the yearly performance.

Pros: Very good in personal development
Cons: Highly unionized environment

Very good company to work for, but there is a life after the mining industry

pay queries ,, receive timesheets from all departments timesheets capture on Excel and do filing. I am a straight person, it is ether right or wrong, no grey areas. I am not here to be your friend. , you cannot afford by making mistakes with other peoples money. I really love my job and the more I have learnt, the more I want to learn. it is good for me because I day I might needed it. I enjoy working with figures. I love to do recons, looking for a problem if any. The most challenging aspect of my current job is to try and have no mistakes during a pay run and that every employee received their money correct and on time.

Pros: There is chance for promotion, but the unions must first agree.
Cons: Every thing relating to your salary, must be decided by the union and management.

I have learned so many aspects of Procurement during my years at the mine

It has been an excellent learning curve at Dwarsrivier Mine. I have learned so many things from Safety to Technical aspects of mining. My day to day job is to ensure Supply Chain and Inventory policies are adhered to and implemented

Pros: Great company with great prospects for growth

Team work

I learned to work with team, I work shifts and I also work overtime if needed. My daily basis is to collect the samples from the plant, filtering samples, drying samples, pulverizing samples using swing mill and swing mill pot, sizing determination, bulk density determination, analyzing samples using epsilon CARD and ICP.Good housekeeping. I'm also a safety rep.

Pros: Laboratory analyst
Cons: overtime

Implementing health and safety systems

Very challenging conditions that allow adaptation of the system to of health and safety. I learnt to put up systems in place to manage health and safety. I had good communication with unions and workers and adapt the safety systems to situation and conditions

Pros: Grow in my career
Cons: Communication with community that does not understand mining
