Challenging yet exciting

When I get to work i get requests from all the branches Capetown, KZN, Bloemfontein PE and Johannesburg all want different things, i get queries from staff have to handle the safety department as well, senior management always question what you do and expect things done ASAP

Duties

I work at the Cape Town based office that employs 10 Technicians, 2 Engineers, Technical and Admin support roles. My duties include ordering stock, receiving and dispatching stock, stock takes, creating purchase orders and the full admin function involved in running a warehouse. A typical work day for me would be issuing stock to Technicians in the morning, ordering stock from various suppliers, following up on orders, quotes etc, Receiving stock that comes in and capturing on the system, Despatching stock to jobs, capturing stock counts and investigating variances. The most challenging aspect of the job is seeing that there is enough stock to perform jobs at all times.

Pros: challenging and satisfying position
Cons: work day too short
