Challanging

Great company , very exciting field with something new every day. Never a dull moment with a lot of challenges. With branches in JHB and DBN you get to travel from time to time and see all type of industrial applications which puts you one up from the average stuck in one application job.

Pros: Learning new things every day
Cons: Long hours

Excellent learning curve

During my time at Directech working as a marketing assistant, I learned how companies determine what product or services to sell, how to reach target demographics with the aid of analytic tools and how to respond to the some of the threats from competitors. More importantly, I had the opportunity to work with seasoned professionals who taught me how to easily grasp complex marketing concepts and at certain times, how to roll with the punches in order to achieve various objectives. I have also acquainted myself with a wide range of skills that allow me to blend with the group or team’s culture and to continuously strive to reach common goals amidst failures and setbacks. In addition, my active involvement in many academic and extracurricular activities has helped me tremendously in developing my communication and leadership skills, which are vital in finding success in the corporate world.

Pros: Growth
Cons: long hours

The interesting journey

Every day i do, tool box talks, risk assessments, accident and incidents investigation, corrective action reports, deviation reports, safety ad health awareness, I relate quite well with the fellow employees. I would say i am an iron fist in a velvet glove. I am strong but soft Kind but strict. I have learnt that one has got to adjust to the environment and also that companies do no value safety the same way through out the industry. I enjoy talking to employees and helping them understand that their own safety is not for anyone's benefit other than themself. The most challenging aspects of this job is trying to convince people that is not noticeable when one avoids an accident than the accident itself. The most challenging aspect is to also convince management to commit to health and safety in difficult times.

Pros: Analytical, firm, strict, flexible, hard working
Cons: Can be too strict and intolerant
