Diesel Supply Logistics Reviews

I have learned a lot of the petrochemical industry, logistics and general management

A typical workday included management of booking loading slots and deliveries of product, financial activities and smooth operations. My relationship with co-workers were not always smooth as I have high expectations due to my own efficiency. I have learned a lot about fuel, operations and staff management. I enjoyed the challenge of loading and delivering fuel timeously and managing the drivers and fleet. The most challenging aspect of my job was working very long hours, night and day. No overtime was paid and no time off for personal reasons were granted.

Pros: No pros, as the director is under the impression that when he pays a salary, staff belongs to him and he would expect his staff to be available to him 24 hours a day, even weekends and public holidays, even office staff.
Cons: Long working hours. Unreasonable employer. Unfair labour practices. Salaries didn't justify the cons.

Loyalty and hard work were not appreciated and staff are treated like property

The company culture is unfair and unreasonable. I have been with the director in various ventures for 15 years and in the end when I couldn’t grow any further in the company except to overshadow him, I was treated with disrespect and was submitted to mental abuse and had a nervous breakdown due to being overworked and not appreciated. I haven’t had leave in 18 months and was denied a weekend off. My standby hours included weekends and I could never have a good night’s sleep as I always had to be able to hear my phone for emergencies. I had no assistance. The company also made itself guilty of unfair labour practices and the director is under the impression that if he pays your salary, he owns you, which means even after hours you have to be available for his personal issues.

Pros: No pros, as the director is under the impression that when he pays a salary, staff belongs to him and he would expect his staff to be available to him 24 hours a day, even weekends and public holidays, even office staff. As Logistics, I needed to be available at all times, but my salary didn't grant it and I was unable to tend to my personal issues, such as banking, doctors, etc.
Cons: Unreasonable employer. Unfair labour practices.
