Good Exposure to Mining Systems and Procedures

Mining is has hectic days and you find yourself on standby in many occasions. Phone is always on 24/7 I have a good working relations with my subordinates and believe a lot in TEAMWORK. In many cases I will even motivate them by making them braai from my own personal money. I have learned that if you believe and conceive on something you can actually achieve inspite of anything that can come your way. I have enjoyed the freedom of running the project without interference by my Line Manager instead they allow me to do the best as long its profitable for the company by taking ownership. The most challenging aspects of the project was that the client does the planning for us and hence they tend to move us from one area to the other which had impact on our consistency and productivity.

In my company I've learn a lot ,working under pressure ,overtime not being forts because of the work load, I didn't receive any written warning since I started in this company in 2009 or verbal, Awop ,I enjoy helping employee and make sure there happy

- Earth Moving Mechanic responsible for all the services and breakdowns on all Volvo dumper trucks - Maintenance on all Bell dumpers B40 E, B18 D, B20 D, 1866 Bell Tractors, Hitachi Excavators, 966 H Front end Loaders - Mobile Crushers and Screening Plants - Services and breakdowns on engine, Hydraulic pips, Diffs and gearbox, Bearings, brake linings. Air brakes, boosters. This is my daily work. Have a good relationship with the drivers and other mechanics. Have good days when parts is available to fix all the mechanical problems where parts need to be changes. The challenge is when you need to make a plan so the machine can work again.

Pros: no opportunity for promosion
Cons: Long hours

Good working environment

Am qualified Diesel technician,able do any work in the company . repairs,service, maintenance and mainore.able to do engine overhaul, extras like welding , house keeping .

Hardworking and willing to learn and explore

I'm a qualified diesel mechanic and currently working as a maintenance planner . I have N6 mechanical engineering, I'm appointed as a 2.9.2 by the health and safety of mines ensuring we work and follow the safety procedures.

My reviews

In my lifetime at companies I've learnt that working as a team is the best way of keeping the company going. The most difficult part of working at companies is when you have to leave the place in a form of being retreanched or the company closing down. I have learnt that individual reviews are very important especially when trying to hear out what other workers think of a better or improved way of doing things. Out of all i am enjoying most of my time doing my job and getting the task done in time.
