Challenging days

I joined Diageo 11 years ago and everyday has been a challenge . I have been exposed to many different areas and departments . Many challenges , presently we are changing SAP systems. I am definitely part os a team and enjoy working with my colleagues. My most challenging part of my job is the production planning especially when there are constraints but production is needed.

I have learnt a lot from this company which has empowered me for my next role.

This a great company to work for, where i do my job without anyone micro managing me. A great team to work with, even though we are not a huge team. Good company that offers learning assistance to advance your career, gives you freedom to succeed and opportunity for growth into other roles.

Pros: Great company to work for
Cons: No Oportunity for growth at the plant where i am.

Excellent learning curve

Long working hours with a supportive team. However the opportunities to learn and grow do exist. Good environment for self driven individuals. High energy office space. The work is a lot though so one can get caught up in work and forget to take a break.

Process Operator

Daily operation Do change overs, fault finding using a 5 why. My relationship with my colleagues is perfect we I get along with everyone at shop floor.

Great exposure to global trends

I have really enjoyed working for this organization , have grown as an individual and have received good recognition through colleague engagement and interaction. Individual development plan not emphasized. most challenging aspects of the job is that there are no clear job specifications and guidelines, overlay of responsibilities causing employees to be unproductive and overworked. difficult to take leave as the work cannot be passed over to anybody else. high staff turnover cause for concern . I love the brands and the brand history we have . I have learnt to be a great problem solver and to engage different stakeholders within the organization at high levels .

Pros: great expore to international trends and other african markets
Cons: long woking hours and no rewards for extended hours

A typical work day

A typical work day, would not be day at all if it does not include challenges that would allow me to stand tall, loose my temper with myself that is and to make me wonder WHAT IF? A day is full designed to allow you to question your own strength and ability to succeed and become better than what you were an hour ago and better a minute ago. You need to change yourself 1% each day in order to adapt to a 365% change at the end of the year. Challenges in a day allows you to be a better you. I love being challenged by my daily duties from 10 meeting in a day to allow you to operationally assist in all matters requested, raising work standards and adhering to company policy at all times.
