Taking a step forward of my career

I am team leader in outreach where communities are visited,doing counselling and testing for HIV,initiating HAART ,Screening TB,treating STIs,giving immunisations in children,consulting patients with minor ailments and those wth chronic illnesses,ive worked in Antenatal care,managing PMTCT programme,in Maternity unit conducting normal vertex deliveries and referring complicsted cases to the highest level of care,in Postnatal ward performing PCR in babies who are PMTCT exposed.Ive grown professionally through my team mates,i wish that i could explore more by looking for another place to work on.

Pros: opportunity to enrich my career
Cons: understaffing

Good learning curve

I work 5 days a week 8 hours a day, working in public sector is good for career as you learn new things everyday and having a good working relationship with colleagues makes a good team work. I have learnt how to work as multidisciplinary team and work independently at primary health care. I love seeing my patients healing and praising me for dedication and love I have for them. Every job has it's on challenges such as lack of equipments to diagnose or treat patients.

Pros: It's great learning environment
Cons: Government doesn't give enough opportunityto grow
