dept of justice Reviews

It is the Regional Office, admiistrating all the Western Caoe Courts.

To deal with different staholders is the most interesting challenge. Even your co-workers are your stakeholders, so transparency is more important in my company, not to forget to report back all the time. The most important thing I learnt in the institution is the self respect inorder to be able to respect others within the company and outside, obediency is needed at all the times by not accept bribes from the public/ stakeholders and avoid corruption. The most enjoyable thing is to help or assist all the time when needed to uplift the standard of the institution, that is why transparency is most important. The challenge is for the job to be done properly and time management.

Pros: promotions when needed
Cons: no encouragement

Excellent learning curve

Worked for 9 years in Dept of Justice, two years as a contractor. I liked the job, duties were so exciting in particular finance department. Liasing with suppliers from different backgrounds tought to calm myself under frustrating situations. My co- workers were the best colleagues I ever met, we had all had team spirit to archieve one goal. Bookings flights and accommodations for unplanned meetings was much challenging, I will sacrifice launch time, and sometimes leave the office late to succeed my tasks. Also worked for seven years under legal department as a maintenance clerk. It was most challenging where I have to know and comply with all the law Regulations and Acts for criminal and maintenance law. That is where I developed a strong character. Dealing with the public, to give best service to customers. Also learnt strong administrative skills, as there was quite a lot to be done on a daily basis.

Pros: They are, if ten years or more in the department and or for graduates
Cons: 8 hrs

I HAVE GAINED A LOT OF EXPERIENCE. NOW I KNOW HOW TO HANDLE CLIENTS.

I HAVE LEARNT HOW TO HANDLE CLIENTS WITH DIFFERENT BEHAVIOURS. I ENJOY WORKING AS A TEAM BECAUSE EACH AND EVERY TEAM MEMBER VOICES OUT HIS/ HER OPINIONS. THE MOST CHALLENGING ASPECT IN MY JOB IS WHEN THERE IS A NEW SYSTEM AND WORKERS ARE NOT TAKEN OUT FOR TARINING.

Pros: AN OPPORTUNITY OF BEING PERMANENTLY EMPLOYED
Cons: NOT BEING EMPLOYED PERMANENTLY

Challenging every day

As the government is big on service delivery, we have daily chalenges with public, who can be very demanding. Work well with co-workers. When working for a smaller office who have to do more than one thing, so you learn to prioritize, as there are stuff that has timeframes. Also learn to multitask. Not everything a person does is enjoyable but i always found ways to do more to challenge myself, by assisting others and other offices in the region. Most challenging aspects to me is when your collegue is off sick and you have to do their work and keep your own work up to date. I loved doing procurement, but with the government and all their nitty gritty rules and regulations is become more challenging to enjoy what a person use to love doing.

Pros: Alot of perks, and more leave after 10 years of service you get 30 days leave per year
Cons: enforcing BEEE
