Excellent Admin & organisational skills, people's peson , dedicated and determined

involvement with sub-ordinates, resolving problems within the office, daily communication with officials and other managers, writing reports and strategic support to the Act CEO. Challenges is when there is no co-operation from other managers because of their busy schedule and I have to compile a report and need information from the. Also when insufficient POE is submitted by managers .

Pros: opportunity of being promoted to a Director Coperate Service.
Cons: preparing to submit POE to Head Office because of scanning all documents, however with the help of sub-ordinates it becomes easier.

Corporate travelling, transport services, registry, office services, reporting, strategic support, problem solving , risk management, financial management, supervising, communicating with other managers and Act CEO.

Pros: promotable based on knowledge, skills, qualificatios and years of experience

Excellent review curve

Provide Administration for three regions: Free State, KwaZulu Natal and Polokwane Offices (CLUSTER LEADER). Render Secretarial service to Water Use Application Advisory Assessment Committee (WUAAAC), Take minutes in WUAAAC and facilitate the delivery of recommended Water Use Licensing Application’s to Head Office and Regions. Gather and Capture list of WULAs for presentation, Prepare Schedule for WUAAAC Sittings. Maintain and keep records / minutes of WUAAAC. Updating of Global spread sheet. Facilitate Applications s to be signed by the DDG and the DG. Despatching of WULA’s to 9 Regional offices. I have good relations and can communicate well and im also a team player. That I am capable of growing m career in this Admin/Secretariat field. I travel a lot with my work and that brings joy to me because I have extra cash at the end of the month. Is being on point and my report and spread sheet tilling together with the regional administration.

Pros: it will be a great opportunity to work for a private sector
Cons: Im working flaxy hours from 07h00 to 15h00 when im in the office but if i have travelled then is from 08h00 to 16h00

Excellent learning curve

A typical day at my office included preparing reports, drawings and reviewing data. My most favourite was preparing drawings using Caddie - Geometric Designs. Ill get to send these to my supervisor for checking than they will be sent to Head Office in Pretoria for final viewing and recommendations. Our Hydrology team in Durban was made up of 8 people the rest was in the Midmar Dam office but monthly we would meet up to discuss maintanance, job cards to be done and prepared and data to be reviewed. What I learnt more is to love and work with different characters, as this was my 1st job from Tertiary..learnt to care what some else thinks and have good listening skills. Plan well and work well in a team as we needed to travel to site and perform duties. The most challenging aspects was to Processing some of the data as it wont be withdrawn properly or if there arw gaps in the data, instruments not working or if there is no flow in the rivers due to drought. Thank you

HR Officer .

responsibilities include recruitment, payroll, training, induction, sickness and absence tracking, disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy settlements, equal opportunities and establishing staff support systems.

Pros: Human resource professionals interact with people, though the degree of interaction may vary. However, human resource professionals enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that their work directly affects people in a beneficial way. Human resource professionals are keen to help employees find their way through difficult problems.
Cons: Here in human resources, instead of reporters or fans, you have deal with unsatisfied employees. In human resources, you have to provide services which are taken for granted by employees. It is a thankless job. If something goes wrong, for example if the workers don't get their salary, there are reimbursement issues or new employees are being educated or trained in an improper manner, then you have to deal with too many disappointed people.

Water Use Licensing Applications and Environmental Impact Assessment an Plans

I was responsible for Water Use Licensing application and offering technical imputs on the Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management Plams submitted to the department by different companies and stakeholders whom had an interest in applying for water use authorisation. The communication with stakeholders and the site visit and inspection as to wether the proposed place is legit for the said application, the ensuring of compliance with the general legislation and Act that govern our natural resources were the most enjoyable experience in the field. I am well organised,goal oriented and self motivated person who works very much well as a team player and can work alone if there's a need.

Pros: My work abilities and commitment often determines my future aspiration and stability within the company I am employed at.
Cons: I am able and available to can work to my best ability and ensure that whatever I am assigned to do is done to detail even if it takes working overtime.

Rewarding opportunity

I am a friendly and hard-working individual focusing on delivery of outputs as my area of speciality is performance management. I have been fortunate to represent my Department internationally on two occasions and have not only secured training opportunities with Japan and Netherlands but also made great friendships in the process. My position has allowed me to be part of many inter-departmental forums/platforms which I have found most rewarding as it has given me the opportunity to be apart of a changing sector in terms of qualification development for the water sector. I have been working full-time for more than 20 years and am now looking to focus more on my family commitments and other career aspirations in the counselling space. I am therefore interested in securing a half-day job as I would still like to continue contributing to the HR community in whatever way I can.
