Electrical maintainance

Typical work on a daily basis: Lights installation, Cable jointing and testing, 3 phase motor repair, Transformer Maintainance, Electrical Appliances repair, Distribution Box Re-wiring and general electrical maintenance. Relationship with co-workers is excellent, we communicate well and assist each other where needed, I have learnt hand work skills and how to communicate well with people of different cultures, beliefs and personalities. I enjoy having to solve Engineering related problems, being challenges and learning new things every day. The most challenging aspect of the job is when I am being criticized as I am a Female and in a Male Dominated Field.

I am fast learn and i do my work excellent

I am very interested to work in this company and to learn more and to see my self growing as a emplyee. I obtained my diploma in financial management at taletso tvet college 2017. I was doing intern at public works and road and currently now i am working as a issuing clerk at SelectPPE.

Challenging

Allocated 2 additional work responsibilities in other units that are outside my job description. It's a challenge but it gives me opportunity towards learning other things.

Good working for gorvenment

Not working permanent position just in an apprenticeship program but it's been a great experience working in a gorvenment sector, we render service delivery and we learn so much as painting apprentice that painting is not about just applying paint on the wall there are some things that you need to learn first like preparation methods of application and which material to use for different surface and selection of tools.

Cons: less pay

Learning pretty well and Growth

I am one person who can work well under pressure, under any situation and still remain competent. I am a goal driven and a very positive person who likes challenges and adapt easily to change. I work well with my supervisors and colleagues, and also value the importance of achieving collective objectives. A fast learner and a very confident person who gives effort to every task given. I am still competent working alone but also a good team player, able to take instructions and ensure that the outcome is positive and it contributes to the municipality.

Work on day to day maintainence,Renovations and repairs of government buildings

I do renovations and Repairs of government buildings ,inspections takes place 3/4 times a week,I learn under a project manager as we manage projects on site,we give out instructions to the constructors, we prepare payment certificates,specifications and bills of Quantities. The communication between me and my co-workers/ the contractors is well,we work together as a team cause we all have a one goal which is to completare the project in time without any complications which we cannot fix. We take note of everything which may delay the project and work together to make up the time lost.

Pros: Learns a lot that some day I would be able to manage the project alone
Cons: I work from 8:00 to 16:00,min-fri
