Good understanding of entity oversight

I work in the entity oversight branch that provides oversight on public entities. I have obtained 4 years experience dealing with matters of strategy, finance anf governance. The tasks are perfomed in line with PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Companies Act, King III on Corporate Governance and other applicable legislation to spesific entities. I have been facilitating tabling of strategic plans and annual reports to Parliament by the entities. I prepare the briafing notes for the Minister for the bilateral and Annual General Meetings with public entties. I have also been assisting in facilitating the MTEF process whereby entities are required to prepare and submit funding request to the National Treasury. I have learnt how the boards of enties engage with the Minister and Parliament. Challenging aspects include monitoring of compliance by the entities to ensure clean audit.

Pros: Ability to perfom duties at director level beyond my level which is deputy director
Cons: Dealing with 5 entities while supposed to deal with 2 in terms of job description

Extremely challenging

The Job has been interesting indeed,it has grown me mentally and professionally. I began working as an intern quickly rose up the latter based on my work ethic. A typical working day is quite busy, it starts when I wake-up in the morning and watch run the news as I get ready for work. When I get to work I immediately read the news paper to prepare my media program for the day. I always maintain professional not personal relationships with colleagues. This has given me piece and mutual respect between myself and colleagues. What I have learnt the most is that my attitude is as important as my strength of work. I have enjoyed building my mind and helping the Department's communication strategy grow.

Learning Curve

I normally concentrate on the most most urgent in order to be complete. I am an active team player who liase with everyone in a positive way. I normally ask if getting orders that I don't understand or ask of clarity to elaborate. I have learned that delegating to the team makes life easier than taking all the responsibilities and pressures. I enjoy interacting with everyone despite the level and nature of work. I believe we are all human and not afraid to approach. My challenge is sometimes if I don't get satisfaction or things are very slow for me I turn to try do it myself to speed up the process even though it can be intimidating for others.

Team player and team leader,good customer service,deadline driven and can work long hours

If granted the opportunity, I will bring with many years' experience in managing both ladies and gentlemen. I acquired the knowledge while working as the frontline team leader and the building manager. I also managed Minister’s body guards and ensured that their admin and travelling are in order. I specialise with soft services and have full knowledge of waste management, monitoring and managing parking bays, frontline, mail room, moves and churns, cleaning, monitoring calls, actioning them and closing them so as they may not be out of SLA. Fire evacuations, ergonomics, health and safety and repairs and maintenance I was the Protocol Officer for The Minister of Communications. I assisted my Principal personally and professionally (especially on trips and during events), travel and worked long hours. I am eager to learn and take critism positively when advised and guided. I hope you will find the above in order.

Motivational letter

I am a hardworking individual who is always committed to his given tasks. I have good communication skills, computer skills (advance Ms excel, Ms Powerpoint, Ms Word and Pastel Evolution). I am able to perform given tasks and meet deadlines.
