Superb service

I started working in 1990. I enjoyed working with children. I made friends with collegues and we still visit each other. I have learnt a lot from administration to the actual job. I learnt finance activities, liaison. quality management, marking and many others. The most challenging aspect of the job is bullies. They do not on ly bully learners but also educators.

Pros: Being a priest, social worker, psychologist, parent and friend
Cons: Learners do not want to learn. They are not motivated.

Excellent Learning Curve

A very busy day, associated with long hours of toiling and standing. In the rush of seriousness and busyness we just greet each other and share two or three words and pass one another. I have learnt patience and humility. I enjoy the extracurricular activities, debates, quiz, etc. Yet the most challenging part of the job is the promotional hierarchy; mostly a feature of comradeship than merit.

Pros: A good platform to further studies
Cons: Larger work volumes

Racked up a lot of experience

The work situation was quite varied, but involved a lot of travelling across the whole country visiting schools.I would sometimes travel alone or in a group.Depending upon distance we would either fly or drive to our destinations. We bonded with colleagues as we spent a lot of time together away from our homes.I mostly enjoyed meeting new and interesting individuals. The greatest challenges were financial in that we had to finance our trips most of the time and be paid on our return to base after the submission of claims.

Pros: Growth and meeting new people.
Cons: Long working hours far away from home

Insightful

Working at DBE has been very insightful, I had to learn a lot of things and I was given a chance to do things that were related to my Degree. I enjoyed travelling to provinces for monitoring of classes. My typical work day includes administration, doing submission, quality assuring claims and submission of claims at HR

Pros: Learning at all times
Cons: Not getting enough compensation
