Excellent learning curve

A typical work day is based on the maintenance of the system. If the system is operational, as a technician I have to do new designs to upgrade the perfomance of the system. If there is a test I have to operate the system. I am always busy with the Control Technician, if not help the junior technicians or assign the junior technicians to do certain tasks. I have learnt a lot about electronics (practical work) from syncing cameras, troubleshooting drive cards, Cinetheodolites bus system, work with PSOC. I enjoy programming the PSOC since it allows a technician to draw schematics and program with C language, it makes things simple if the circuitry is connected correctly. The most challenging task is to work with people who have more years working for the company but not the work experience.

Cons: Not being close to family

Great opportunity to grow

A typical day involves having brief discussions with all direct reports on the status of the current projects they are busy with. It involves answering all emails in my inbox as well as actions outstanding in the ERP system. It will also involve any scheduled meetings for the day which varies in nature depending on the day. I enjoy the daily challenges the job presents.

Cons: No real promotion scope
