Excellent learning experience

Manage all contractors in the workshop HSE requirements to make sure they are fully compliant. Make sure the facility department is up to date with materials and all equipment is load tested and certified. toolbox talks and weekly she walk abouts and meetings regarding findings in the workshop area. load RFQ's through procurement and make use of SAP to get contractors and findings on site for record keeping.

Pros: working hours goes according to your work schedule
Cons: Contract work Never know if your job is safe

Excellent knowledge received with regards to industry

Your day normally starts at 7am and finishes at 7pm. We are majority project based shutdown. I am responsible for all logistics functions for DBM. Each shutdown's duration is 45 to 90 days long and each year we have 3 to 4 shutdown's. That is 45 to 90 days consecutive. I have an excellent relationship with colleagues and subordinates. This job has increased my knowledge considerably and not just in the logistics / Supply sector but regarding business, safety and engineering.

Pros: Excellent remuneration
Cons: Irregular and long working hours, 12 to 15 hours a day, 45 to 90 consecutive days per shutdown and no scope to grow
