I am a senior general Foreman with over 42 years experience in the building industry.

I start off my day with a meeting with staff and Foremans, good communication skills with coworker and sub contractors. Communication is vital and safety and house keeping skills keeping everyone safe.the challenge that comes with the start and completion of the project. Construction is my passion especially when I can see the near completion of my project come into reality. Being a team player and having a hands approach with the project helps me understand my team better.

Pros: Completion of projects timeuslly, and receiving a bonus. Seeing the appreciation of the client .acquiring new skills and knowledge.in the industry that's always changing. The opportunity for promotion.
Cons: Set backs due to unforseen circumstances like the weather conditions. Strikes in site .working in rural areas, with material that has to be ordered way in advance. Delay of delivering of material to site .changes of architectural drawings which can delay the program and progress of project.

Exceptional accrual of perseverence

At present I am unemployed and could was not able to be employed with an Employer

cuMy last project I managed was exiting and working to a tight schedule. Project was completed and commisioned and handover for operations at Mondi Paper Mill in Durban South Africaaaaarrr

Pros: I was employed by the client for a plant shutdown on their Mixed Fuel Boiler that provides additional electrical power to operations of the plant. The project was a Boiler tubing and Heater tubing repair and replacement, including new refractory installation and curing of the Refractortory, commissioning of the boiler and put back in service. Once the boiler was in production, my services was no longer rerquired
Cons: I only worked with this client as a hired contractor manager to managed the boiler repairs for two months and have no other obligations with this company

Learn a lot

I learnt a lot while I was keep on telling myself I will do well at work always.I got that thing of respect at the working place,be an early coming worker not to disappoint any up positioners in the work.We were working 5 days of the week usually but the hardest was some of the workers were lazy at all

Best at what I do,good communication skill,knowledge of working in groups,ability to work under pressure Ability to face challenges.Challenges is when employees don't follow the safety procedure e.g not wearing correct PPE on site.

Skills Development

Have a passion for success and goal-oriented demeanor that would push me to accomplish my set tasks. Also, with my personable character I can work well and communicate with others to contribute to team efforts. In all that I do I would strive to advance the company, and I feel that my previous work experience proves that.

Excellent learning curve

My duties include seeing to it that construction materials and machinery arrive on site in time, timekeeping, liaising with suppliers, progress report, quality assurance, production scheduling. I maintain a safe working environment for workers. In the civil industry you never stop learning, everyday there are new challenges. I'm also the designated driver of the company ensuring that employees get to work safely and timeously, and I have to collect material from time to time so time management is one of my qualities.
