Believe in good working condition and keeping others safe

I started in H&S in 2009. Ever since i have proven myself by winning Safety awards. I have been managing safety on sites between R20mil and R180mil. I have also widen my skills by familiarising myself and gaining experience in a wider field in safety such as consultancy, civil ,manufacturers and auditing. I was with a leading company called LabourNet. I was their senior safety consultant for the eastern cape. I am a fast learner, hard worker and most definitely a people's person. I don't believe in cutting corners and putting people's lives in danger but i do believe in reasonably practicable. I know that i will be a assist to any company. Regards Riaan

Project Management/Development

A typical work day is unpredictable as I am involved in securing new projects. Most jobs are negotiated and hence involve a lot of design and negotiation. I am also involved in the management of our current construction and there are always challenges that needs to be overcome. Good stakeholder relations are vital and hence I work to maintain these relations. I enjoy most is that a new project reaches my desk first. Its always fun to learn something new. I am extremely hardworking and curious and hence I tend to get involved in everything and anything that needs to be done. In my company I am the "go to" person for information. I am also responsible for identifying and managing all project risks.

Pros: Flexible and challenging
Cons: Limited scope for growth

I am a honest person and good in my work. I am a huge positive to any company In 2011 i won the regional safety award in the eastern cape. My reasons for changing jobs so often is to gain experience in as much as possible industries in health and safety. I enjoy working with people and even more enjoying to teaching people. In all my years i have not yet received a bad audit result as all my work is carried out with love and passion for health and safety

Excellent learning curve

I essentially completed my National Diploma in Journalism at TUT in 1999. I have more than 10 years working experience in the corporate world doing mostly internal communications, senior level admin, executive level office management work. I then joined SABC news.com in 2001, working as a Researcher then, And moved internally. I x sealed a two year contract with SABC Education (Youth Adult and Public Education) as a Project Coordinator. My skills are quite diverse working as a BU Secretary, Marketing Assistant, Project Coordinator/Administrator, Online Editor, Events Coordinator, Executive Assistant, Office Management and currently, as a Commissioning Sales and Supply Chain Business Support at Syngenta SA. My strengths are, I am results driven, very ambitious and self-driven. I work very well within a team and/or on my own. I am deadline and detailed orientated. I am headstrong and have exceptionally good writing and communication skills. I trust and hope to hear from you soon.

Pros: The company had great learning prospects and I loved working for them.
Cons: The company wasn’t doing well which resulted in retrenchment. I would have loved to stay on longer.

I guess all days are the same for me regarding daily duties. And my relationship with co-workers is so good cause we talk about everything, What i've learned from Conco is that you need to have eras as big as a elephant for there's always stories going around. But because o f who i am, I dont entertain it. Challenges, your job aspects change every month.

Learning Curve and sharpening of skills

- Go through the day's required tasks with the Group Accountant - I get along with everyone at the office - I learnt more about VAT Control as I had to perform the monthly recons. I also learnt about other AccPac Finance Functions - I enjoyed reconciling the Group' Inter-Company Loan accounts and IC Trade and Payables - Having to wait for information or documentations from colleagues and they are either not available Otherwise I like fixing problems (reconciliations) and making sure till the last step that all has been sorted.

Pros: Helping with 26 companies' group (Inter-Company) accounts
Cons: Limited Resources for me to perform my tasks

My career spans over 29 years in the electrical HV Industry. At Ethekwini Electricity I successfully completed a number of different Projects (+ 30 projects), these included green-field projects such as 132/11kV Substations as well as brown-field upgrades. I now perform a similar function with my current company - Conco.

Pros: Manage and co-ordinate the build of complex HV Substations
