Meeting new challenges

I am currently working as a mechanical artisan at my current company.I am carrying out daily scheduled maintenance work as well as an unforeseen breakdown tasks on different stainless steel producing machines. I can proudly say i have a very good relationship with my co-workers,because they elected me to be their safety rep,since they realized my good interaction with them,that is incorporated with a safety conciousness an alert. I enjoy it when it is the time for implementation and installation of new diverse technological equipment.I have learnt the operations and the maintenance procedures on different types of stainless steel producing machines, such as mills,pumps and rollers. The most challenging aspect regarding my current job is when it comes to harmful gasses and acids (such as ammonia and nitric acid) that we are always exposed to, that are emitted during the production process.

Lots of exposure

I do daily maintenance, projects and standby. Generate training manuals, train others, changes in the PLCs (S5/S7), backups new codes deal with suppliers and contractors.

Good Working Environment

Very well structured international company. The company does really care about the health and safety of all employees including contractors. My sub-ordinates are very well educated and experienced, hardworking and very reliable. I enjoy the working environment including all the challenges coming with the industry. I am a mining type of safety specialist and would like to return to mining. I do internal audits and make recommendations. I visit all my site Risk officers and discuss challenges in their areas. I coach Supervisors on a weekly basis regarding their legal responsibilities and liabilities. My SHE Reps are very important to drive compliance. I have a healthy relationship with all workers and labour reps. The most challenging part is to manage contractors on site that just come for a few days shut down or breakdowns. I have learnt that health and safety operate on the same basic principles never mind the industry.

Work hard

My tipypical work day is going to work and interact with my coworkers because we are like family we work together and our relationship with each other are very good and important to go further in the company. I have learned lo6by my fellow workers as a team .I enjoy the most to spend time with my friends. The most challenging of my job is to have a fabulous day with my coworkers and to work safely together as a team so we stop we think we plan we do that is a good day at work

Worked for automation company with an excellent program exposure.

I would love to work to an environment with strong and relevant growth- I believe Sasol will provide such excellent working exposure that will enable a huge growth both personally and work related.

Exposure great

Willing to work hard and use gained experience to better Sasolburg position to make current position to better and higher standards. I am currently doing daily maintenance, projects and standby. I also teaching or guiding juniors new skills to be promoted to higher responsibilities.
