Working at Collinson has its challenges and as a front line manager you feel overworked on most days. I was exposed to the broader business and built experience in operation management and commercial satisfaction as I would need to provide reports to our head office in London. I am included in conference calls where I feel like my opinion does matter to ensure the process we have are both efficient and effective and that all subordinates understand what is expected of them. I learned that the human touch goes a long way and when staff feel valued and appreciated they are much easier to work with. As we are 24 hour call center and working rotational shift it does put a strain on the family life and that is the biggest reason leading me to seek other suitable employment opportunities.

Learning curve

Very busy, must always be ready to take the next call for a home emergency. Always had limited limited to review and pay a claim. We always worked as a team even though we did not have good working conditions or clear information.

Pros: For those close to management promotion always open

Good starting point

Nice environment, however not a lot of growth or salary, managing is poor. Job description is also not clear, very small building and lots of irrelevant rules. Work load is not bad. there are also a lot of misunderstandings.

Great company

This company is amazing. Lots of opportunity. I suggest that management communicates more. Sad to leave due to retrenchment. The working hours are great but leave availability is sometimes a problem. Company focuses on agents.
