Heading up a legal department from scratch

I was employed at my company to head up and start our very own in house legal department from scratch. With experience as a Litigation Assistant, I threw myself right in ready for the challenge. Our first year was extremely successful reaching over R1.5million in incoming figures. We are all females that work together which can be challenging at times with so many strong personalities around each other, but at the end of the day we are family, we all look out for each other and do our best to be a pillar of strength for one another. It has been an absolute privilege to work here, I have learnt so much more and have grown as an individual in more ways than one could express in a single review. What I enjoy most about my job is always the thrill and satisfaction of winning a case and finally reaching settlement, the hard work and late nights that goes into every one of my matters are endless but when it finally reaches finalization it is as if a sigh of relief and complete satisfaction can be had.

Pros: Great working environment
Cons: Salary expectations are not realistic and the continued insecurity and feeling you are replaceable at any second.

A typical work day

Start work at 07h30 everyday and the best challenge of the day is to reach my daily target of at least R4300.00 in order to achieve R90000.00 a month, which is not always easy to do but when target orientated this is what you want to achieve, but what I enjoy most is building a relationship of trust and confidence with my debtors and getting them to pay their account as well as building strong client relationships in meeting the client's expectations of collecting on their handed over accounts.

EXCELLENT

My work day include calling debtor for outstanding debt, i have a very good relationship with my colleagues. i have learnt a lot in the past few months i am working here and with the past employers i enjoy working in a group and keeping my staff happy i like to challenge myself by doing what i do best in my work place and always working through wards my goals
