Flexible, organized and quick learner

Being CMC Di Ravenna, international construction company where I was exposed to multiracial and multicultural environment, offering opportunities to learn a lot socially as well as professionally. There I have worked big and different projects such as road and water treatment stations Construction. As a Technical Assistant I was part of the Project Management Team with responsibility to do document control, prepare technical and daily activities reports, progress of works maps, Prepare as built drawings, scheduling and do inspection of works and procurement. My daily activities had balanced rotation with always something to do but not always the same activity witch was enjoyable. The challenge was to combine long hours of work with studies to better my contribution within the company. I have learnt a lot about project management which motivated me into doing BTech in Project Management which I'm on the last year of it today.

Pros: Great opportunity to gain vast work experience
Cons: Long working hours, few chances to care on the studies

I believe that I am a peoples person and team work is extremely important.

I believe that I am a peoples person and team work is extremely important. Most of my time as a leader I motivate my staff and the people around me and truly believing in positive thinking and speaking. Statistics shows that people make mistakes trough their attitude towards the task or job or maybe issues at home in most cases not following procedures and then it results in Injuries and or damage to property and or the environment and that is why the people aspect is so important and the most challenging part of my daily tasks. I enjoy auditing / inspections to continuously measure how well the QMS is working and to continuously improve and correct in an effort to prevent accidents.

Pros: Great opportunity to save lives
Cons: very dissapointing when the system fail someone and he / she get hurt.

Excellent Learning Curve

Avery busy environment, up and running at 07h30. a lot of interaction with fellow workers. Learnt a lot in the construction environment . I enjoy interacting with my fellow collegues. Meeting deadlines is my challenges on site as it requires a lot of team work and team spirit.

Pros: One can work even abroad.
Cons: Sometimes there are long working hours to meet deadlines.

POOR MANAGEMENT

long hours. they trick you into coming to work for them. 7am to 6pm I wont recommend leaving another company to come here. If unemployed, then its ok as a last choice. Poor management. More off a dictatorship style of management

Great experience gained on the job.

A typical day at work consists of site visits to monitor progress made from the previous day, inspections and producing concrete, concrete reinforced and survey drawings as requested by the Engineer. Over the years I have learnt what to look for during inspections and I have generally managed to improve my autocad skills when it comes to reinforced concrete detailing and compiling of bending schedules which I have grown to enjoy. The demand to deliver accurate, neat drawings in a short space of time has been a challenge. I have managed to work well with all colleagues from all departments.

No learning Curve, your input is required

You work independently. My relationship with co-workers is great. I have learnt to smile to everyone. I enjoy to show my skills and being praised of the good results my skills are producing to the company. The most challenging aspect is getting records of work done before my arrival. The filing System was not done to standards. I have learnt that without proper records, a company can lose a lot of revenue.

Pros: Great Opportunity to being exposed to various massive projects
Cons: No great opportunity for promotion and we work long hours

Micromanaged

Micromanaged and no teamwork amongst employees. People given responsibility depending on race. Years of experience in an individual doesn't matter that much

Excellent opportunity

*Supervising activities assigned to cleaners and drivers * Receiving and filing of all incoming correspondence documents * Ordering and distributing of stationery for administration & technical department * Helping department employees with administrative issues on a regular basis * Internet searching * Keeping record of all doctors invoices * Filing, faxing, tracking, facilitating payments of invoice *Acting as a first point of contact * Ensure that all visitors/callers are made to feel welcome in the office of the PM by greeting them professionally and willingly assisting them with any enquiries/queries * Collecting Tender documents on Project Manager’s instruction with the driver * Control bookings of a boardroom
