Child Welfare Reviews

Gained experience working with people as clients

Great experience working with people and helping as many people as we could. Too much work and shortage of resources. Many people still needs assistance from the organization. Social workers to stay with the organization for longer period because it affects service delivery. Even the appointment of Social Workers should be done accordingly.

Pros: Helping people
Cons: Shortage of resources

I am directly supervising 10 employees

A typical work day can easily go from quiet to extremely hectic and stressful within minutes. It is always helpful to stay calm and think logically and prioritize and delegate appropriately. My relationship with my co-worker is very good. They have the freedom to be themselves and have a laugh but they also know when to get down to business and work well together in case of a crisis. What i have learned in my position is that you can never be prepared enough and you need to be prepared for the unexpected situations and crisis situations or complaints that can come in at any given time. What i enjoy the most is seeing employees happy in their roles and if they feel successful and has helped a client. The most challenging aspect of this job is because it is an NGO and nowadays people do not easily give out money resources are so little. you cannot help everyone as the need is too great

Pros: great opportunities i have every day is to help people and better their lives
Cons: sometimes we work long hours or one case can sometimes be very intense

Kgotsong Clinic gadern

Kgotsong clinic gadern Here at Child welfare we are working the garden every day,we started with preparing the soil than after that we planted the vegetables,we control by watering every day and controlling the pesticide. The team that I am working with are very good and I like to work with them every day.And I lean to work with many women around me because I didn't know that before. We advice each other on the team and I always motivate the needy one.The challenge that we experience is that our plants are eating by the animal during the week ends because we are not working on week ends.

Pros: I have being choosing by my supervisor to lead the team of the Child welfare to the Competitions of the Agriculture.

Excellent learning opportunity

I AM A HARD WORKER, I WORK WELL IN A TEAM AND I HAVE LEARN T THAT EVERY WORK IS IMPORTANT AND THAT YOU MUST TAKE IT AS IF IT THE LAST ONE. MY WORK DAY IS WHEN I AM GIVEN A CHALLENGING AND I HAVE TO GIVE IT MY ALL. I WORK WELL WITH OTHER CO-WORKERS SO THAT I HAVE GREAT DAYS AND SO THAT IT WILL BE NICE TO GO TO WORK EVERY DAY. WORKING DAY BY DAY WITH A STRATEGY AND IN ORDER. EVERY PERSON MUST HAVE A GOOD WAY OF TALKING WITH OTHER PEOPLE, IN WHAT EVER POSITION.

Pros: yes please
Cons: 8:00 am TO 4:30 pm

Gaining some experience

Working day was normal. Co-workers were friendly even executives. I have learnt that it's actually good having your own job, having colleague's and do the job that's expected. It's boring when supervisors are there because you can't work in peace, they always tell what to do. That's the most challenging aspect

Pros: Learning
Cons: Normal working hours

Good learning curve

Child welfare is a big organisation and I learnt different fields or methods of social work like case work, research, group work and community work. I have been exposed a lot to community work which us my favorite method in social work. Working in a team and problem solving, I have learnt to work independently without supervision sometimes. I have a good relationship with everyone in the office. The most challenging part is that the organisation lacks funding sometimes employees do not get salaries

Pros: There are great opportunities but there is no money
Cons: Working hours are normal and flexible
