Introduction to the world of fibre optics

Working for Britelink was a good start to learn about fibre. I now know how to do a home installation, maintenance on a fibre cable (aerial fibre) and splicing. We used to work throughout the night to do a core network break fix. I enjoyed meeting new people everyday while doing home installations. The most challenging aspect of the job is waiting for the configuration of an ONT while the client is anxiously looking to you for answers.

Pros: Introduced me to the world of fibre optics
Cons: Working throughout the night in cold weather

Excellent learning curve

Nice Company to work for , with a lot of Pros & Cons Company grows fast and there is a lot of opportunities. There is a bit off inconsistency with salaries and people dragging along. I feel this happens at every company . Big pressure on targets and sometimes work never stops but its not necessary a bad thing as its Challenging & Busy

Pros: Salaries always on Time /
Cons: Flexibility is a issue , Company benefits is very poor

Excellent learning curve

My journey in Britelink has seen me single handedly introduce times more for installs, dispatch install team within 2 work days, introduce training and development and process flows between the maintanence and installs department to get all customers active within a 72 hour timeframe if there are issues preventing the customer from getting active. My technical knowledge in Ftth and Fttb is above average. I have a strong relationship with my staff and lean away from an autocratic leadership style as there is dependency from my side with so many new projects.

Pros: Knowledge gained on technical and field competencies
Cons: Fast changing
