Busy retail environment in sales to the public

I am doing everything from debtors, creditors, bank reconciliations (4 companies), cashbook, general ledger, supervising all sales clerks, monthly SARS submissions, Easyfile, Efiling, Human Resources, etc. I have a very good relationship with my co-workers, from the cleaners to the managers. I do respect people and know what it takes to be respected. Although I do the HR, I prefer being an bookkeeper/accountant, that is what I am studying for. Challenges in my current job, is to train people how to read a debtors statement and why credit notes are dangerous. I am trying to teach people the accounting side of their jobs. Why do you need rules and regulations in stock controlling

Pros: I have learnt a lot about the retail environment
Cons: Long work hours, not much of incentives , no increases

I am qualified and previously act as General Manager for a manufacturing company.

In my office I never have a dull moment. I am doing bookkeeping and HR. My co-workers have a lot of respect for me, because they now I am trustworthy and will always try to help them as far as possible. I am compassionate, strong personality but assertive. I know where to draw the line. The thing that I like the most of my job, is that I dont only do accounting but also involved with the HR side of the company. Biggest challenge is to get our warehouse to balance their stock and take responsibility for that.

Pros: I work close to my home
Cons: Long working hours, no promotions or salary increases
