BP Southern Africa Reviews

Corporate approach and structural mode of work.

I continuously resolve compliance issues of Resellers. This is with regard to legal and HSSE compliance. My current challenge is to influence independent Resellers or Distributors to set aside capital that will assist them to comply, while they will not immediately see the returns on their investment. I have annual objectives I am required to work towards. I review these weekly to ensure that I am spending my time in alignment towards achieving them. When I foresee any preventing obstacles, I first try to resolve them on my own and approach my line management for agreement. When I don't have a plan for them, I approach my line manager for guidance. This is the way I do my work. It has proven to be a working one so far.

Pros: Opportunity to engage in something meaningful and rewarding.
Cons: Too much travelling.

Good culture and exposure.

Excellent learning curve in a fast paced environment. There is a never a dull moment. Challenging role and yet fulfiling.one is exposed to various legal disciplines like property law, labour law, procurement law, interaction with public sector due to regulatory requirements on the business, corporate issues arising from application the contracts form part of the daily grind.exposure to supply, franchising, safety amd food safety laws. Exposure to layered reportingand issues affecting the organisation inter- jurisdictionally. However workloads are high and this can be overwhelming. Constant restructuring also creates uncertaintity which is discouraging.lack of transparency in the perfomance review process.

Pros: Agile working hours
Cons: High workload and low headcount which leads to sheer exhaustion and attrition. Constant restructuring

Excellent company with unlimited opportunities

Excellent learning curve as I was fresh from varsity. BP presented me with all the opportunities. I worked hard and move around from Treasury, Lubes and finally in Human Resources

Pros: Great opportunities & employee educational support. I was given the platform to move around and grab it with both hands
Cons: Yes long hours mostly as your day in HR changes without warning. Other than it was all good as I was doing what I love

A company with benefits and the ability to be developed

Each day has lots of deadlines that must be reached, payments to employees and system updates to validate. I have an excellent relationship with my co-workers and we share many personal moments often. I have learnt to understand the dynamics of different personalities and that nothing is guaranteed I enjoy being able to work from home the most, 2 days a week The most challenging aspects are trying to convinced employees that the system is not always to blame for errors.

Pros: Flexible working hours
Cons: Not being permanent

Excellent working environment

excellent WORKING ENIVIRONEMT THAT IS INCLUSIVE AND ALLOWS AGILE WORKING. opportunities ARE GIVEN AND CHALLENGED. We all worked well as team, i have learnt to work well in a team and asking for help when there is too much to do. Most challenging about my of having to rely on other team members for data and not getting them from a system.

Pros: Inclusive,Agile
Cons: None

Route

,the is day shift and night shift . some time I work more than 10 hours hours because of high volume of work. and also like to share any nearmis or incident that I saw along the road. I enjoy most when I work with peace and love with my colleagues because at work is where I spend most of my time so I we have to be happy always. the most challenges I have is when I have a break down and found that the respond come after long hours because I like to be on time

Pros: fleet superviser
Cons: 16 hours

Acquired vast experience in my career

I have always worked in a team work environment and like to work with people to achieve our objectives. I have learned to respect and appreciate the diversity of people i work with over the years in my career. The most challenging aspect of my job is when the supplier is not paid in time due to invoices not having necessary authorization.

Pros: Hard work being recognised
Cons: Working weekends
