BP SA Reviews

I've learned that that kind of thinking limits the possibility of great success.

• I think one of the most important things I've learned is persistence. Not to give up too soon, because the solution is probably right in front of me. • I have learned to give every person a second chance, because first impressions can often be misleading. • I used to think that there was one best solution to a problem, but I've learned that that kind of thinking limits the possibility of great success.

Pros: Opportunity for growth
Cons: Lot of learnings

High and low lights

I kick started my career at Bp SA Technology Centre in 2015 as an intern. In my year I was involved in a project, the project was more around developing a method to identify and quantify FAME in a Jet fuel . This project gave me a platform to exercise my innovation and problem solving skills. It also helped me to understand the importance of fuels quality in the engine. I was working with a senior chemist on this project and this help me a lot to learn from the experienced associates.

Pros: I now understand a lot on fuels production and quality
Cons: I only exercised few of my engineering expertise

Excellent Global company to wrok for with great exposure to all areas of Supply Chain

BP SA is an amazing company with good benefits and values. The workday is pressurized with deadlines to meet. The drive to reduce meeting duration enables me to concentrate on achieving results and ensuring customer satisfaction. I have a great team, that strives to realise our goals. I spend time educating, mentoring and coaching my team, so that full potential is achieved. The challenge varies daily, but the control of 3rd party service providers is among the top daily challenges even with an agreed SLA.

Pros: The ability to work without been micro-managed
Cons: Limited growth due to a flat structure

Good for your career development

A great company to work for, especially to build up your experience. Global company that has too many layers and processes which therefore slows down too many things on a local level. The culture is not the best, too many office politics, co-workers spend too much time on non adding value activities. I have learnt to always stick to what I'm there for, work towards achieving the objectives in my job and not get distracted by the things happening around in the office.

Pros: Great company for your career development
Cons: Toxic culture
