Blue Downs Animal Clinic Reviews

I've been working for year at this practice and found it most rewarding in every sense of the word

My day is starting from 14.00 which can run to 22.00 at night. I do reception and with all that goes with it, selling products welcoming clients, taking out files, comforting a client who had to put down a sick animal to assisting the doctor with operations, answering phones. I have a wide range of duties. Also managing the rest of our team. I also see to it that the doctor is not bothered with itty bits of problems. These I tend to myself to keep him focusing at his job at hand. We colleagues get along just fine. I have learnt to give of myself no matter what is much more rewarding as you see the fruit of that labour when you nursed a sick animal to health. I enjoy the interaction with the clients and working closely with the doctor and just the overall job satisfaction! Its challenging to have to seen to clients, selling products and be needed in theatre all at once. I can make a difference in only if it is in one person's life..and the feedback because of this spesific attitude of mine is overwhelmimg.

Pros: My job is mot far from my house. So getting there is almost at no cost.. this job has taught me to be humble and grateful . Althoigh we dont get any funding from government we are a low cost private vetrenarian trying to meet the neefs of the community
Cons: Yes i do sometimes work ling hours.. but what do you do when a person gets home at 18.00 finds his pet in agony? And he doesnt have thousands of rands to spent but wants to help his pet? So wrether its a con your instinct to help and save takes over
