Team work, working environment and the challenges

I started at the Budget and Treasury office where I have worked with incredible people who not only assisted in explaining work but taught me how to behave when working in a team, an environment where people are self driven and passionate about their work, as an Intern I have learnt a lot of skills professional and personal.People treat each other like family, the budget office consist of 3 sections at Bitou Municipality, the Asset & Liabilities section, Financial Statements & Budget & Reporting, when the one section is not busy it assists the other section without any complaints. I enjoy the busy times when we spend hours in the office trying to balance the budget or the times when we would work together trying to make sure all the assets have been verified and are in the asset register. the highlight of my career has been when we worked together to Implement the Municipal Charts Of Standard Accounts, a new reporting system for all the municipalities required by National Treasury.

Pros: Opportunities for growth, multi tasking, team work experience
Cons: Too much work, long hours

He Learning Curve had its ups and downs just as many jobs do.

I really enjoyed the teamwork aspect of the job, The teamwork aspect of that job — and this job — is something that greatly appeals to me, because I typically end up learning a lot about what I’m capable of when working in synch with others.” “I really liked that my last company put career growth front and center throughout my tenure. This same emphasis on career growth was one of the things that appealed to me most about this job, and which really excites me about the prospect.”I have always worked well with both the employees in my department as well as the employees in other departments.

Pros: ou are truly independent. It’s much more than just the allure of getting to work in your pajamas. Working from home means you’ll learn to rely on self-motivation, self-discipline, focus, and concentration. “As you work through your career, those are really critical components for success,” says Fay. “It sounds simple and obvious but the time management and scheduling you have to do is an important skill to have.”
Cons: ou may forget to clock out. While people might think working from home means doing less, the opposite might be true for diligent employees. “When you don’t have that separation of going to and from the office, your workday kind of blurs together into your home life,” says Fay. Feeling like you’re always “at work” could even lead to burnout.

Must a have a passion for the call to eradicate poverty, than excellence will prosper

Bitou municipality strives it's utmost best to provide quality, world class service delivery in all basic needs. It furthermore extend its mandate in providing much more as Constitutionally required, such facilitating growth of corporates, SMME, tourism. Health care and library facilities and also education projects in higher education.

Pros: Opportunities exist in Local Government it depends on the Incumbent to explore them
Cons: Extra ordinary time of duty calls...
