Opportunities for professional growth and development

Beyond Zero is a non governmental organization providing technical support in HIV/TB program implementation. For us to be able to implement organisational vision we need to be technical experts and be always have up to date information with new developments of the programs we support. We are professionals with different expertise ( doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, monitoring and evaluation). We work as a multidisciplinary team where each has a vital role to play to achieve organizational role and I work well in such enviromnent. Working with different stakeholders (DoH) is sometimes challenging but rewarding in long run.

Pros: Dealing with stakeholders at different managerial levels ( sub district, district, provincial and sometimes national) provide opprtunity to learn more
Cons: Wide scope of work and supporting many districts is challenging

I've grown at Beyond Zero

Started off here as a Junior IT Assistant and now i am running the IT department by myself with a little help from an IT consultant. Can't say its a great place to work though, an NGO is not a stable job because we depend on funding. I have learnt work ethic and how to work under pressure. It has been a good learning curve for me, I'm able to solve problems on my own now, sit in meetings with senior executives and have/give in some input. I would like to work in a more corporate environment where i can be empowered and developed as an employee, in that way i can be a valuable asset to any company.

Pros: Great learning curve
Cons: No promotions and no development programs for employees

It is a great working environment to work in but chances of growth are few

Its quite a challenging environment as it it challenges one's intergrity in terms of confidential information that we are dealing with on daily basis .It also gives one a broad knowledge about the silent killer diseases.My relationship with my fellow co-workers is excellent we do have disagreement at times but it is only because of work nothing more.

I

I am a team player willing to exchange ideas with my time. I 'm a very good with time management and I meet my daily targets and deadlines on time.i have strong interpersonal relationship with my colleagues .I am motivated by challenges they make me eager to improve the areas of failure.The challenges I am facing now now is accuracy of the information from the field workers.I am willing to work extra hours for the benefit of the company

Excellent company

I was working as a junior receptionist for 3 years helping stuff with time sheets twice a month responsible for bookings car servics and the safety of the cars by checking it every morning before its goes to the fields ordering staff tea and cleaning materials welcoming of visitors answering calls take messages

Pros: Good organization
Cons: Working underpreasure sometimes

Having timelines to meet executed tasks

It has thought me about confidentiality since the organization deals with the statuses of the people mostly young people. It is also teaching us not to discriminate others because of their HIV and TB status

Cons: Challenge of not having all the resources

Excellent learning

In my previous job I have gained a lot of experience with such good people. In a good working environment. Me and my colleagues we had a good relationship and we were able to cooperate with each other
