Bell Equipment Reviews

Please see cv

To the HR manager I have recently obtained my Bachelors of technology degree (BTECH) in Mechanical engineering at the University of South Africa (Unisa), having previously completed my diploma studies at the Durban University of Technology. I have 3 years of experience in one of the largest automotive earth moving companies in the world (Bell Equipment), where I work in Quality Assurance. I familiar with various drawing software packages such as solid edge, Auto Cad and Pro Engineer. I am confident that I would be an excellent candidate for the position, having been involved in a very large earth moving environment together with my analytical mind set. I am looking to gain solid design experience as a professional mechanical engineer, to align with my studies and feel that your company can provide me when this and together we can achieve great feet’s.

Try something new

I am self-motivated, well organized and a hard worker. I perform well under pressure, enjoy and accept responsibilities and challenges. Although able to function successfully and independently, I enjoy the stimulation and sense of being part of a team. I am loyal, dedicated and enthusiastic worker and attention to detail is one of my main attributes. I prioritize, set my goals and strive for excellence in everything that I do. I am pro-active, seize opportunities and thereby influence positively. I can make rational, realistic decision, render judgment and take action based on the consideration of all facts and alternatives available during conflicts and disagreements between others and myself. I possess the ability to listen and express myself clearly and accurately. If given the opportunity, I will play an imperative role.

Pros: For prompotion
Cons: Looking for change

The company have its own ups and downs but its stable.

In our organisation we work as both individuals and as a team. So its important to build a team cohesion and relationship. We spent almost the whole day at work so its important to be happy. We learn a lot from each other, from all spheres of life, it can be work related, family and spiritual life. I enjoy starting a new project, gathering of data, presentations, project management and most a complete project.

Pros: From a junior position to mid management position is not bad but to move to senior management is a challenge
Cons: project planning to minimize unnecessary over time.

Opportunity for growth, good work ethos

Walk around, get quick update. Prod meeting with supervisors. Meet with prod managers, address issues preventing meeting MSS plan. Throughout the day I address ad hoc issues. I have a close relationship with co-workers. This is key in ensuring that we all work together to achieve a common prod goal. My co-workers see me as an approachable individual. I strive to ensure that we all are able to work in a harmonious & safe environment. Building relationships is important, earning trust & respect. I enjoy interacting with people of various backgrounds, cultures & ages. Individuals are unique & being able to have a connection with people helps make our working days more understanding & enjoyable. I like to get things done immediately, others tend to not have the same thinking or motivation as I do. There are instances where I am faced with urgent customer requirements due to machine breakdowns. I prioritise this. My approach is ensuring customers’ downtime is min & I reschedule my prod plan to meet requirements.

Pros: Opportunities for growth/promotion
Cons: Reached a point of stagnation

Minimal future growth

Bell is a good company that lacks growth in all spheres. Investments in human capital are low as they do not offer trainings nor opportunities to internal candidates. That is due to lack of skills offered internally. This is also ascossiated with high labour turnover as the market is willing to train and retain their staff. High staff shortages results in intense pressure that is not regarded. A good environment though with colleagues listening skillings. This is an environment that can be reversed with the right management mentality.

Pros: Builds confidence in working under pressure and meeting due dates with delegence
Cons: Minimal growth

Challenging environment

Bell Equipment is service driven to its customers which require us to go extra mile in ensuring that the customer gets what they need on time. I have an excellent relationship with my colleagues and subordinates however conflict is part of the journey but it needs to be managed. Learning is continuous within the continuous changing environment. I have learned that people are an important assets. I have also learned how the external environment affect businesses success, for example the competition and commodity price. My current environment requires constant planning and contingency planning, for example drought in Europe led to delays on containers coming to Africa and disrupted planning. Changing the plan and motivating people is critical.

Pros: I am currently acting as an assistant manager even thou the posistion does not exist.
Cons: Customers and work volume are not predictable which leads to working long hours.

Excellent learning curve. And it a good working environment.

It gives a good working area. As we are working according to track time. It made me to be able to reach deadlines. If there's any problem I report it early as possible.

Pros: The problem is there's no growth. Chances of growing are very small.
Cons: I wish they would allow a 12 hour shift. Because we're working 8 hour shift.
