Although many changes within the group, I have gained amazing exp within the different portfolios

Ensuring that the office functions well - receptionist, cleaning staff and handyman. That all kitchens are well stocked, office is clean and refreshments are available for meetings and staff. That all office equipment - photocopiers, switchboard and generator are in order. Early morning critical task meetings - projects that need to be addressed and staff scheduled accordingly. We have an excellent team who I work well with. I have learnt to be open to whatever changes occur on a daily basis and to ensure task are prioritised and get feedback from co-workers and advise clients on an ongoing basis. I enjoy the variety of the position and being hands and seeing projects / tasks being handled on time. The challenging part of the company is having to have dealt with the uncertainty over the past year of the financial status of the company. There has been no leader but all staff have continued to go forward and deal with every situation "thrown' at us.

Pros: The amazing varied position, where I have gained so much, administratively and technically
Cons: Uncertainty of where the company was going and whether we would receive payment at the end of each month

Freelance consulting

The construction sector is fast paced and deadline orientated. This is enjoyable as you are always challenged and learn to adapt quickly. It has also created strict compliance levels that I am able to manage with ease. Working with high profile clients has been challenging but also a tremendous learning curve. I have learned to work with various aspects of the organisation from labour to procurement, project planning, health and safety and management. I am in the process of obtaining my bachelors degree in HR and Psychology with only two semesters left.

Pros: Excellent opportunity
Cons: Short term assignments and always in search of new work.
