It is an excellent learning curve

I am currently doing electrical and electronic faultfinding on cigarettes making and packing machines. We start by having a meeting for the department to review the previous day's work. And with every shift change we do hand overs to the next person coming on shift. And at times I help and teach the newly recruited members of our team. I have learnt that in every work you do not only deal with your work but you must be able to work with people of different attitudes. I enjoy mostly working in a team for we are able to share experiences with each other. I also enjoy to see the people that we offer our service to when they see me they get assured that the machine will be operational again. Its when you come across a problem that you encounter for the first time and the fitters think its electrical. Then as an electeonic technician when you say its mechanical you have to prove and also give guidance on how to fix it.

Pros: I will say to thise people who are prepared to change their careers
Cons: Although we work long hours but its only for four days and rest the three.

Management and Leadership learnings.

BATSA is a great working environment but however what is on paper does not always seem to materialize in most cases. There is minimal growth for some of us who are outstanding and above peers employees, as there is still a backlog of long serving employees that the senior managers still feel that they owe management or higher job grades too, which makes it harder for us employees who have only been with the company for less than 10years even though we put in the work and the results are evident. Which is why i have put myself out in the market as i am seeking new and greater challenges that will have me grow and allow me to contribute the growth of an organization.

Pros: Great team players.
Cons: Not a great place for promotion/growth.

Excellent learning curve

Flexible,unjust easily to change,working in a big factory with different cultures,working shift and over times if required,team player,learned multkills,since my company need flexibility among employees,most changeis of the job is wen export is in high demand.

Pros: I have studied deferment qualification for maximizing promotion opportunities
Cons: Overtime is sometimes required

Great exposure and excellent leaning curve

I was exposed to a numerous system and business model changes which lead to an excellent learning curve. I also had an opportunity to perform system integration reporting which included stock variance reports.Team work and knowledge sharing culture are important to the organization and thus used as key learning tools.

Pros: Growth opportunities, even cross functionally
Cons: unpredictable working hours
