Excellent learning curve
my day is always a busy day inspection here and there, doing my own quality filing,from time to time meetings with the client regarding progress and planning on how to milestones. i have good relationship with my co-workers, they always come to me if there is something that needs clarity,always finding way to tackle the work. i have learnt that team work always bring success in a project regardless of personal differences. planning is also a perfect tool when parties can sit down and plan on the job. what i enjoy most is when i come across a challenge that will need me to to focus. the most challenging part is when dealing with non-conformance,now that is challenging but like i said a challenge is what i need to be more focused

Job Satisfaction
At Basil Read Limited my normal job is to provide commercial support to all the site and drawing up Subcontract Agreement back to back with our Main Agreement with the Employer. The Company is very dynamic in the sense of mixture of old and young management structure, that on its demands to bring the best out of me. Major challenges is working with SMME subcontractors and services providers and requirements to educate them on contracting principles and ever changing statutory procedures. I have learnt a lot from the time i signed up with the BR particularly juggling between Fidic, NEC3; JBCC; GCC agreements on a daily basis as my job includes among other things, is to provide commercial services to all the divisions (mining; buildings and civil projects)

I am willing to improve Safety standard and to ensure that the company comply
I want a Safety Officer Job as I have more experience working in Safety since from 2005 until to date. I make sure that company complies with all regulations. I ensure that all risks and hazards are addressed to all personnel in the company. All tasks must have its own risk assessments and safe working procedures. I represent the company in quiet and conduct all the Audit to subcontractors and internal audit. I manage all the emergency drill. Chair the Health and Safety meeting with the Construction manager and Safety representatives. Making sure that all appointments is done according to new regulations. I am ensuring that the company work according quiet Specification and Environmental management plan. I do all legal checklist monthly. I make sure that toolbox talk is done by everyone including supervisors.

Learnt a lot from the Industry.
Based on site so my day starts with Safety meeting every day,on site measurements and progress site meetings. I work very well with co-workers as team striving towards our targets and objective and still work very well individually.Working with team has taught me co-operation ,critical thinking as well as learning different individual working strategies and tricks. I have learnt working with minimal budgets,maximizing profits without deriving from the client scope of works. I enjoy producing best quality projects to satisfy end user and client, there is nothing fulfilling than having to hand-over an almost defects free or minimal snag list projects.This might sound impossible but it is if you pay attention to quality from the beginning and don't pile up remedial. work. The most challenging part is workers that are not adhering to health and safety.

Typical Working Day
Challenges, each and every day i have new challenges and new projects taking up time that i have to do my daily planning in every 5 min, Something new arises each and every hour, that i have to move my people around because every site wants everything yesterday, I have an excellent team that support me in every aspect of every job and every body get a chance to grow a little every day.

Excellent health and hardworker
We are a group of 5 people in the office, we support one other in times. We are tide group work well together. An average day will be confirming job confirmation, administrative duties conclude of filing of documents on employees file. Upload of new employees and then our busy time are at the end of the month uploading time sheets, most challenging to make sure that the correct employee number are used to the correct employee

I find the most satisfying as pect of the job is when my team is doing their work well and safely
A typical work day starts at 6 am , then usually interview operators about any problems experienced with machines , collect pre start check lists , organise a operator of a certain machine it is due for scheduled service , first notifying production team 2 days before the time that machine is due for maintenance so that they can work their programme out minus that machine , or plan it for sunday if machine cant be released for maintenance receive oil sample results from head office and action the component which is faulty, also have critical [fast moving] spares on hand to reduce downtime, important to have good relationship with co workers as then you work better as a unit , the most challenging aspect of the work is to have good availability of machines for production purposes
Pros: Communication with management is very important on maintenance activities for planning purposes
Cons: Frustration of not getting parts on time for breakdowns , especially in remote areas

I have learnt a lot over the years from the different executives of the various companies
The tender process happens in various phases. 1st phase is to go throuth the tender document, understanding the scope of works, specifications and the relevant conditions of contract. After these these have been analysed the process it to start pricing the job, using CCS. While pricing the buyer is obtaining the pricing for me for materials and subcontractors. While pricing I get the opportunity to go deeper in the specifications and the drawings and getter better understanding of the structures that have to be constructed. After pricing the direct works and the indirect works and updating the material and the subcontractors I sit in a meeting with management to discuss the job. The items that will be discussed are things like risk, analysis of the the pricing and after that the tender is submittedd
Pros: Management is willing to engage and wants to engage with Employees.
Cons: The company is going through a tough time and is currrently under business rescue
