Bank of China Reviews

Excellent learning curve

I like work with my dear colleague, we like sisters, we support each other, we cry and laugh together, we like family, and I am the mother which who look after everyone's felling. During the past 6 years I have manage to operate treasury back office relevant works, I have learned accounting report and BA Reports, manage account receivable and payable, provision, daily report, accounting expenses, bank reconciliation, annual financial statement, fixed assets management, budget, performance appraisal. I have learned the internal audit from the scratch to the report issuing, and I can independently perform an auditing project. I have done quiet a lot project by my self for the past 3 years. I like challenge work, each time overcome the difficulties I fell very happy, and each time when I finished one project I also fell very happy.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours

New experiences

My views and perceptions of Bank of China may have been skewed. In my perception I thought they would be technologically advanced and I could learn a lot from their culture and how AML is applied in their bank I believe that our local banks opened up more learning opportunities. Communication barriers seem to be one of the most difficult hurdles to overcome, followed by the lack of transparency and willingness to embrace change. My level of exposure however is slowly starting to increase as my current line manager understands my management style and my need to upskill and improve our team's abilities and training needs. In my view a company without a vision and realistic strategic goals with which its employees can align themselves is like flying a airplane that is going nowhere. What I enjoy most though is my interaction with other team members and staff.

Pros: The company is starting to realise the training and unskilling of staff is needed
Cons: Long working hours and inflexibility
