Good Exposure
I have a good exposure working as a maintenance planner, I encounter challenges from customer from time to time as we have to provide reliable equipment. On a daily basis I have to tie up with maintenance crew for machines that are coming in for service, report to the customer downtime details from the previous shift. We attend bi-weekly meeting where we present past two weeks machine performance and give feedback on what were the main challenges and what is our strategy to improve. I have learned to analyse the challenge before you take the first step, always comply to mine safety standards and all DME requirements. I have a good relationship with all employees as I have interpersonal skills and I have to share my findings with crews and listen to their ideas as per their experiences. Challenges are always there in a working environment but the my concern is when the customer does not comply with our agreements when we need machine available for maintenance and doing our legal requirements.
Pros: There are opportunities for growing within the group, I grew from being Assistant Planner to be maintenance planner. There are opportunities of being a Senior planner or National Contracts Planner.
Cons: From time to time you can be required to work long hours when necessary but its not a normal thing.

Lm looking for a new challange
Qualified since 1992 as petrol,diesel,tractor mechanic in Zimbabwe I could do all 3 trades as one trade in Zimbabwe. Im able to weld and use gas oxygen and asetelene set very well.l have been in the mining, transporting,farming industrys since being qualified, lm also able to do auto electrical as it was part of my trade.lm able to overhaul engines,transmitions gearboxes,differentials.l have also rebuilt all makes of machines, ihave worked on all makes of tractors,trucks,and mining machines.
Pros: possible to become foreman as l have been foreman at many companys

Global company not so much opportunities
I am currently doing Desktop Support. My day to day duty is to troubleshoot and fixing hardware and software related computer problems. People will log a call on Service Desk it will be assigned to me either I remote to users's computer or I visit the user to solve the problem. My relationship with co-workers is fine as I share my experience with them and document it for them for future reference. I have learnt different people culture in the working environment. I also learnt the behavior on different people and how to handle conflicts What I enjoy the most is to interact with people. The most challenging aspects it when the problem arise and know body told prior he made changes lets say on the network. I am on first line support so people will question me first while that change has been made in the second or third level. I will need to be diplomatic when I answer.
Pros: No opportunities for promotion. They are using a flat structure

I learnt a lot at Atlas Copco-now i think i need to move and learn more out there.
I have very lovely co-workers who taught me that working as a team make workflow seem like a very light thing-i have also learnt to give my best at everything i do-the biggest challenge is being a Receptionist and a Buyer at the same time because its 2 different jobs that both need your attention. Being a Receptionist requires you to be at your desk the whole time because there's customers coming in and phone calls to answer. Being a buyer means meeting with your suppliers,negotiating prices and also dealing with your internal customers which is your colleauges,check stock availability,check if the client supplier delivered eactly what you have ordered. so yes that's a huge challenge.
Pros: No there is no growth in what im doing at the moment because there is no senior positions for both Jobs.
Cons: No its normal hours

I have been qualified since 1992 as petrol,diesel ,tractor mechanics and earthmoving equipment l specialized in hydraulics I currently work for Manitou SA at Mponeng gold mine .we are looking after Mantis railbound underground double boom drill rigs I am self motivated and a leader not a follower I assist many other artisans in fault finding I'm a hydraulic technician for the Manitou team I am a senior technical artisan for Manitou SA at Mponeng mine. I specialized in diagnosis of hydraulic problems.
