Excellence working opportunity

Being a young and ambitious individual gives me the opportunity to gain more experience whilst transferring the skills I’ve gained as to benefit the business. Being employed by the Department of Arts and Culture as an intern has given me the assurance that I’m ready to explore new ventures. . Along the way I’ve learnt to be a smart worker and patient individual, which are characteristics that are needed in any business. Experience gained at the Department Of education and Department of Arts and Culture, in the administration field and Supply Chain Management directorate has ensured I would be able to cope in any Procurement and supply chain management environment as well as follow administrative procedures attentively and make certain of achieving optimal customer service levels. i enjoyed my day to day duties and working with people.

Have to be pro active

Working at KZN Arts for almost 10 years at Pietermaritzburg and I resigned in 2014 as it was stressful because it was too far. I was monitoring the flow of departmental payments accounts and also its bank accounts , processing and authorizing payments. The the typical work day involved morning meeting discussing issues of the day checking the departmental bank account, draw trial balance from the system to clear suspense accounts, handling the payments to be done for day, checking the departmental budget , I was also responsible for financial system anyone who want an access involving finance must come via me, lot of guidance and coaching to my coworkers regarding expenditure was much on to myself, I enjoyed serving and resolving financial queries and the satisfaction of meeting my deadlines . The challenge was work back log due to departmental internal policies and processes that were in place, and that resulted in delay on payments

Pros: Medium size company allows me to work and learn more because when you specializing you dont obtain the opportunity to learn from other sphereson limit

MY WORK EXPERIANCE

I AM CURRENTLY UNEMPLOYES TD DUE TO THE FACT THAT I RESIGNED, THE FAMILY WAS RELOCATING TO JOHANNESBURG. I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A JOB. DURING MY TIME OF E,PLOYMENT, I ENJOYED TEAM WORK AS WE USED TO WIN AS A DEPARTMENT COMPETING WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS ON PREMIERS EXCELLENCE AWARDS. I ALSO ENJOYED POLICY DEVELOPMENT AS IT HAS EQUIPED ME WITH RESEARCH SKILLS AND PRESENTATION SKILL WHEN IM WORKSHOPPING THE POLICY TO EMPLOYES AND TO TOP MANAGEMENT BEFORE APPROVAL AND AFTRE.

My personal review

at a normal working day I deal with the capturing of debtors in the system which is BAS, I will print statement and update the status of internal as well as external debtors. I will communicate with my co-workers from other section to get information which will be outstanding or missing. I have learn that I should communicate with other official to get information in a form of supervisor or a person to be appointed by head of the section avoiding disagreement with officials whom they owe the department.

Pros: i was appointed on permanent position hence i was on internship programme
Cons: there is a shortage of staff which end us working double job with no pay hence there is a provincial recovery plan
