My work experience in a dynamic and exhilarating manufacturing environment.
My typical work day start off when I screen through my mails and respond according to the urgency of the matters. I provide service to Corporate HR and it comes with the responsibilities to respond to arising matters with a sense of urgency as my client base are the General managers as well as the senior specialist. time to time I get to provide consultations to employees who have HR or work related enquiries. I have a good working relationship with my co-workers and we share the same mutual objectives which is to provide efficient and excellent HR service to our clients. I have learnt to adapt to new environment. it is a fast pace environment and one needs to know how to handle pressure. The most challenging aspect of my job is to work in a unionized work environment, particularly when there are strike action.

Excellent place to acquire more hands on engineering skills and knowledge.
Responsible for the overall maintenance departmental running and adherence to strategies. I ensure that the Plant is compliant to all related SHEQ standards and requirements more specifically legal compliance issues. I liaise daily with Production, Sales & Distribution, SHEQ and Technical departments and ensure that the Plants are available for production requirements. I also have overall responsibility of ensuring that Capital Projects (capex) are delivered on time, as per scope and on budget and provide guidance to developing Technicians and Engineers. The other mandatory responsibility of my profile is Operational budget adherence.

Excellent place to gain technical experience
My day starts with a safety meeting where the management looks at the previous day’s incidents and production figures. I liaison with the superintendent of different departments (mechanical and electrical) regarding plant issues that needs to be addressed. I arrange meetings with reliability team to brainstorm the way we can improve plant’ reliability.

A great opportunity for learning
the company is a great place for gaining experience and learning all aspects of engineering. it entirely depends on which section you are based but as far as I know the relationship with colleagues is super great I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. limitations are 1 of the disadvantages of working here, well for me I cant say there is potential growth, due to cost savings and other related issues we cant even get other trainings we need related to our workplace. it sure feels like sometimes our skill is not recognized and the moral of being here is slowly deteriorating. I really love this place but if means no growth for me surely I don't see myself here within the next two years

Great for learning
I was a machine driver at the coke ovens whereby there's ovens to be pushed and charged by the machines. Then further the training is whereby gas is purified by means of draining liquids from gas which the liquids are tar and industrial liquor namely. Also ensuring that the coke or tar is not moist but according to clients standards, like in case of tar it has to be below certain amount of moisture and coke must be just dry neither wet nor hot. We used to work very well together without any complaints or differences if some is wrong it is addressed immediately then we carry on.

Great learning experience and good career opportunities, with chances of going up the corporate ladder. The company has more operation in South Africa and it is also a global business with lot of operations across the world.

My short discription
Is to keep the plant running at all times minimizing the break down, make sure all the required spares is available on site. Training artisans and apprentices is my daily job, planning and job distribution. Do RCA with technical team also the way of fighting against the unnecessary delays in plant. Working as a team ,listen to peoples ideas is my thing. I have been promoted to be a master fitter 3 years back, now I am currently acting on supervisor position its been 3 months now, and I am looking forward to add more build my experience on different industry.
Pros: Yes they are chances of being get a promotion

Quality trained
It gives better and quality exposure, i have learned more experience on this company.it also obtained very well artisan.it has lot of stuff and more plants where there are lot of to work on, multi various trades
