• Manage the demand planning process for the appropriate category (ies) for 0 – 24 months, in weekly buckets; focusing on eliminating bias and improving forecast accuracy. Providing input into company wide demand planning processes & continuous improvement initiatives for the coal export mines. • Development and refining of the forecasting process, models and tools leading to improved accuracy. Responsible for generating and improving the demand forecasts for the business by using a range of methods, including base forecasting • Developing forecasts for existing and new products using advanced planning product selector modeling tool. Driving event forecasting with teams directly responsible for it as well as ensuring buy-in from broader stakeholders.

Good learnings and new challenges every day.

Working in a mining environment helps me realise how volatile the market is and how it effects everybody. New challenges arise everyday and it gives a sense of satisfaction when a person can solve these problems.

Pros: It will be a new challenge for me to join a different industry although procurement and supply chain is a common factor in any industry.
Cons: Different enviroment with different challenges and supply and demand requirments.

Extension of my mining experience and a different organisational culture

A normal work day is truly a pleasure because i am working with very committed group of employees, people that are performance driven. and together we co-ordinate like a well oiled machine. i have learnt that a team can achieve more than an individual and its results can be far reaching and permanent.

I'm currently in a good space with a metallurgical and mineral processing background in the following commodities ( Iron Ore, Thermal Coal, Ileminite smeltering. I have experience in export market and domestic sales. Looking at demands, product portfolio, cost curves, plant profits and future global markets. • Manage the demand planning process for the appropriate category (ies) for 0 – 24 months, in weekly buckets; focusing on eliminating bias and improving forecast accuracy.
