MY DAYS AT ANGLO GOLD ASHANTI

ON A NORMAL DAY I INSTALLED RAILS, WATER AND AIR PIPES TO HELP TRANSPORT WATER, AIR AND WORKING MARTERIAL UNDERGROUND. WE WORKET IN A TEAM OF RANGING FROM 6 MIN TO 10 MAX. ON OUR SITE WE ALSO HAD 2 OTHER TEAMS THAT COMPELEMENTED OUR WORK MEANING WE DID OUR WORK TO ENABLE THEM TO WORK IN A WELL VANTILATED AREA SO THEY WONT SUFFER FROM HEAT EXHAUSTION. OUR TEAMS NAMELY: DEVELOPMENT CONSTRUCTION TEAM, MASH AND LACING TEAN AND THE BLASTING TEAM. I HAVE LEARNT A LOT OF TEAM WORK, DIVERSE CULTURES AND HOW TO ENGAGE WITH DIFFFERENT PEOPLE.

Boilermaker maker supervisor Forman in training . welder trainer Pipefitting Commissioning

My contract was for 1 year and because of my excellent relationship with the workers Anglo Gold kept my for 4 years. Unfortunately government said localization needs to take place. I like to b e before the workers to plan for tg e day ahead we will have a meeting in which I explained what was required motivate and encourage workers and ask for their input to make the day successful. I have learned to treat and encourage the workers and you bring the best out of them to get the work done. I enjoyed the long hours working and no telephones to or any interferes. The most challenging is shutdowns where u real use the plant must run and there is no spares I will save the company monies and make the part myself The best thing for me was learning French I enjoyed it and the locals kept me humble

Pros: I want to grow with the company and want my superior to see my protection
Cons: my best quality I am a workaholic

Goood

I am a team player able to work on my own ,can work under preasure,have a good technical back round on technical things (mechanical electrical)have experience on gold plants,under ground environments I can be an assert to the company I am hired

Ecellent learning curve

Good relationship with co workers. SAP course as well as health and safety courses. A lot of different cultures. Enjoy working with HOD'S and everyone has a good work ethic. Long hours can become a lot but there is also a lot of support from superiors.

Pros: Good working environment
Cons: No shading durring the day

MINE OVERSEER –STOPING, DEVELOPING, SHAFTS AND ANCILLARY ONLY MINE OVERSEER ON SHAFT MANAGING THE GENERAL DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES REACH TARGETS FOR THE LAST 18 MONTHS, EVERY MONTH EXCELLEINT TEAM OF SHIFTBOSSES AND MOTIVATED.

Pros: Worked with a great motivated team
Cons: Company closed down

I have Ability to understand and perform according to work instructions,Physical fitness-regularly required to gain access to inconvenient locations by walking and climbing. •Manual dexterity-ability to work efficiently with general purpose and application specific tools. •Tolerate to working in a hot, dusty environment. •I don't have a fear of heights or working in confined spaces. i can work under pressure, Assemble,Install,testing of electrical wires  *assist with testing,locating and trouble shooting electrical circuits and equipment.

Pros: i have leant alot of good this and work hard
Cons: working overtime and can handle the pressure

Taken training IDP,studying to complete N3 mechanical engineering

Good working in team,like challenges.Learned how to take RDS,Samples,lime slaking and offloading,oxigen offloading,operating according to set parameters

Pros: I don't enjoy staying at one place,want to grow in career
Cons: Don't mind working overtime and public holidays

I work in a Gold mining company called Anglo Gold Ashanti

My work is to assist the plant manager and metallurgical egineer to run the plant by day to day monitoring of the accurate operation of all sections of the plant and coduct daily reports on the overall plant performance efficiency as well as the daily updates of the plant recovery on the company KPI's (Key performance indicators) charts reviewed by general managers in corporate offices around the entire Sa region. I relieve the Metallurgical engineer (acting) on regular basis. The most challenging aspects of the business is dealling with the people on different levels towards meeting production targets safely with the same goal in mind. I have learned that if you genuenly treat people in the correct manner and lead by example, you are likely to receive extra efforts from them and to create the working environment that is healthy to work in. i enjoy working with different groups of people with the same courage and motivation as me.

Pros: The conpany is well wstablished and well known providing oppotunity to get a recognition interms of growth.
Cons: the role i play is brought and not particularly defined to one specific area but collective in wide range of applications.

Maintenance at saving cost to the company advantage do shutdowns welding

I also got experience at powerstations open pit mines maintenance commissing welding supervisor I worked at various mines and cope well under pressure I worked in Tanzania Eritrea Egypt Guinea Mali Botswana. I very been contracted For Anglo Gold Ashanti since 2000

Pros: dedicated work well under pressure
Cons: it's a pleasure to do shutdowns and worked long hours and through the night to make sure plant runs smoothly
