Excellent learning curve, good relationship with people
We grow broilers. Its a 7 week circle and there are 7.5 circles a year. I am responsible for the environmental controlled site. the challenges are sudden breakdowns. there are 3 houses each with a capacity of 42000 birds. i have learnt to be flexible and to avoid breakdowns before they happen.
Pros: learning to run a million rand project with minimal help
Cons: limited time for family

Excellent learning curve
Pick up stuff every morning in town. Shower in for bio security reasons. Do mortalities and check the basic stuff, feed and water consumption, health of the birds. Do repairs if there is. Communication is very good with my stuff and other managers. Have learnt to pick up signs of sickness with ease. It s really nice when everything is going according to plan , low mortalities, and healthy birds with good weights. The winter is the most challenging season on the environmental control houses.
Pros: growing as a person and learning different thing every day.

Excellent Learning Curve
Challenging with so many competitors out there. Still manages to add growth year on year Management can be stubborn at times and note take Reps serious. Relationships are excellent though. What I enjoy most are interacting with customers on a daily bases. I have learnt about the poultry industry so much as I never had much understanding about it. A typical day at work - Visiting up to 10 customers. Ensuring sufficient stock pressure in stores as well as good shelf presentation of our products. Discuss new deals on offer and try to convince customer to buy into deals. Ensure service levels of 3rd party are up to standard.
Pros: Excellent product
Cons: Not much opportunity for personal growth
