Half the world in one office building

Working for Alstom has been a great experience, it feels like half the world is represented because of the different multinational people that work there. I have learned to understand and embrace different cultures, understand different accents even this might be a bot challenging but willingness to learn has made it possible. Dealing with extremely highly skilled people in the engineering, project management sector, people who come from all over the world to bring their expertise to our country. As exciting and eye opening this is, the challenge also comes with guiding and couching Heads of departments, Directors and hiring Managers on what are laws are and how we do things. All in all, I love Talent Acquisition, the chance to bring to the company valuable resources, work with people and establish relationships with key decision makers is fulfilling.

Contract Value R4 billion Responsible for accurate and timely: Cash Forecasting / Trading /Management Process Management – In relation to project review and assisting Project Managers in their financial preparations monthly Invoicing, ensuring Milestone proof is sent to the customer Project Controlling - Assisting Project Managers with Hand-over from sales department, Kick-off meetings on new projects and close-out of the project Management Reporting – Assist with project closures (Balancing SAP report, ensuring all costs have been invoiced, all open Purchase Orders are closed) Reporting on trading forecast monthly Co-ordinating and ensuring projects are reviewed quarterly Keeping a risk log on current projects

Learning curve

8 hour shift is not sufficient be because of the workload. It is a hectic environment There are 6 different satellite warehouses that are located in each workshop and the most complex of them all is the Looming area. Due to the items used in this area they are mainly c class materials and some are even managed by the suppliers (vendor) and there is a lot of missing parts in this workshop

Good project of national importance

We currently building the Medupi and Kusile project as an EPC contractor, thus management of contracts and support of localization to grow small and medium enterprises is key to attain industrialization drive and to achieve unit BEE score card level. On~shore and off shore package management, project management and reporting, sourcing of components is part of my daily tasks.

New Technology with challenging aspectcs

Everyday comes with new challenges and revolves around process safety. This makes my skills improve from time to time with a demanding environment. Working under pressure is an ideal for me to keep my knowledge abroad and with following the French way of doing business
