Contract :

Previously worked as Manager for CVB Wit-MID Distribution , contractor for ALLIED PUBLISHING LTD (newspaper/magazine distribution) Company used my 20+ experience for" smooth take over". Created expectation of permanent position after 3 month contract for all new employees. Typical work day MONDAY-SUNDAY started at 04H00 = checking in drivers. All admin work started at 8 am until 5pm. Duties: Oversee overall management, planning, systems and controls - Monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of organization's financial performance against budget, financial and operational goals. Oversee short and long-term financial and managerial reporting - Financial Reports;-Bank reconciliation - Reconciliation Financial reports-Stock control ;Circulation;Logistics;Publishing - Vehicle Service scheduling. - Vehicle movement control - significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence

Pros: Learning and opportunity
Cons: expected to be available24/7 ; no respect for employees ; poor and inconsistent decision making, NO INTEGRITY

Good learning curve

Typical work a day is to phone clientele, to attach documents and file them. To sort and check errors in adjustments made on invoices and after checking file them. Relationship with collegues is very good as I enjoy their company and hospitality. Have learnt that buiding good relationships is good as it pays you back in times of trouble and also striving for higher ambitions also proves good. I enjoy learning new things and solving work related problems as it lifts me up spiritually and regenerates a stronger confidence in me. Challenging aspects are to be penalised for something beyond your power. eg. the missing invoices appearing in the data capturers system

A typical work day is a very busy day for me. I have a good relationship from management and co-workers I have so much things that I didn't know I enjoy my work very much being at work was like home with you family the most challenging is to have all your work is to date and meet your deadlines

Operational effectiveness, Finance accumen, project management

I have worked in all business spheres of the company, from Operations, Accounts and Commercial department. I have learned the overall operations, finance and cost module of a distribution company. I enjoy my role as stakeholders liaison person as I get to resolve any queries inside and outside the business. I also enjoy new business development and management.

Excellent condition and great team working company

I was with allied publishing company for more than ten years,sadly newspaper industry is slowly dying and we are experiencing job loss.im 35 and I have a family that rely on me,so I should look for a company that I can be with for 25 years.i have learned a lot from the above company, learned discipline,team work and to work under pressure.we knock in at 03:00,load newspapers and get to deliver at stores and garages,after delivery we collect returns and cash.
