Demanding but rewarding with regard to learning experiences

The job is generally challenging because of how strenuous it is on the body. Meat inspection entails the literal visual and physical inspection of different animal carcasses depending on the specific carcass slaughtered on the day. Work relationships are great and because of the load of work that we share i feel that is what brings about the excellent work relationship that one enjoys. A lot of paper work that has got plenty to do with ensuring compliance with the relevant acts. Implementation of such acts in the absence of the challenges brought about by the abattoir managers and their stuff mainly attributed too their lack of knowledge that relates to acts which needs to be complied with.

Pros: A good platform to launch one's career
Cons: The workis very tiring and at times we knock off late and are expected to be back in at work very early the following day

Good platform to gain expiriance

Where I work it's a good working condition. We practice a good team work with people I work with. I have learned how to deal with different personality and i improved my knowledge in meat safety. The challenge I faced is workers who are not willing to comply

Excellent years of leaning and growing

A highly motivated and professional hygiene inspector (a custodian of the Meat Safety Act No 40 of 2000) and registered occupational hygiene assistant with the South African institute for Occupational hygienists.
