I have got data capturing experience that ive learnt from Afrika Tikkun
I am doing the filing of the clients folders as well as the files of the Community Health Workers whereby they do their progress report about the clients they dealt with them in the location as they do visit every day I have to capture new clients information, capture the discharged patient some are deceased some moved to another location. Capturing progress reports. I also book the venues, preparing them for meetings taking minutes there. I have learnt the skill of keeping peoples information confidential and also learn the importance of taking care of the lives of people in the community. I enjoyed advising the Carers dealing with difficult and problematic cases as I advised them how to handle the situation as some are not easy at all. the challenging of these job is when one of our clients dies and you have to capture the information sometimes you find that person is the relative one to you nor our Carers

Learn to work together with people with love, intergrity and honesty
Capturing, typing documents answering the phone calls and put through the various departments. We are dealing with community people the disabled the sick elderly person whereby we take care of them supporting with medication to their houses some they stay alone then I had to capture the information and issue medication to the Carers to take to them. We open files of abused children as well as adults. We provide them with food dealing with mothers and babies and how to handle their babies from pregnancy to birth all is for the community. I captured the information of deceased and others. I enjoy to advise the youth and capture their confidential information. Is when you capture the information with a severe bad situation its also touching. I have learnt to work with community is like working as a team you learn different skills and how to treat each other including the staff.

Excellence learning curve
I enjoy working at Afrika Tikkun because I am working with children from different backgrounds and they different values and beliefs. It gives me a honor to help vulnerable and children at risk. I assist a Life Skills facilitator, so basically I teach children and youth about different topics such as Respect, and Developing Related Skills. I have a very good relationship with our clients and also with co-workers. I have learnt that we are different as individual and that I should treat people with equal respect regardless of where they are coming from. I so much enjoy helping young people with their home works and seeing them getting good results at school because of my help. What is challenging about my job is that we have a very big number of children that comes to our center and we don't have enough time as they come after school.

Great learning experience in terms of strategic business planning
I have acquired a great deal of understanding in terms of strategic business planning and development. Due to my day-to-day dealings with senior management in the corporate sector it has increased my networking skills. The greatest challenge was to secure donations as we had to compete with so many other NGO's who offer the same programmes. Working with beneficiaries was very insightful and it truly increased my compassion towards mankind. A typical day in the office was very hectic and sometimes required long working hours as the goal was always to meet the financial target. Many beneficiaries in the townships depend on the services and programmes offered by the organization, thus we always had to ensure that we meet target.
Pros: Great opportunity to expand your work experience and understanding of the NGO sector.

Excellent way to help communities but the salary is very low
I work on Donor Reports. My job is to report back on the work done in five of our centres across South Africa. Each centre runs seven programmes which are: Early Childhood Development, Child and Youth Development, Career Development, Alumni, Family Support Services, Nutrition and Food Security and Primary Health Care. Apart from this, I do specific reports for Camps, outings, events, and training. My reports also include M&E statistics which I have to consolidate and adapt for my target market to easily understand.

I have a total of 7 years work experiences in retail, call centre, hospitality, medical and health & safety service. Excellent working environment
the company is well organised. we all have good relationship with each other. everyone is willing to assist. and they all do their work in time. there are time for team buildings i have learned that you should always do your duties in time whether a due date is far. i enjoyed the time where we get out for lunch building a team where everyone is given time to talk. i never heard any challenge because i was working on computer and am very good in working on computer
